I recently moved my grandfather into The Palmettos after my grandmother passed. The care he is receiving has been nothing short of phenomenal. The staff has gone above and beyond to make sure he is comfortable and adjusting well to his new surroundings. My family and I LOVE the Palmettos and could not of picked a better place for him. If anyone is looking for a place that treats their residents like family, look no further than The Palmettos!! ❤️

I have been wanting to leave a review ever since Grandmomma died in April of 2024. My mom asked me to let it go. However, after seeing all of the Facebook posts about National Assisted Living Week, and showing all of the fun activities, I have to wonder if memory care was involved in anything. I cannot be quiet any longer. My Grandmomma deserved the best, and she did not receive it while at the Palmettos of Charleston. While looking for placement, we were assured that memory care residents would receive the finest care and be actively included in activities. However, this promise was not kept, as she was only able to participate in activities when a family member was there to take her. The activities director showed little interest in engaging memory care residents and often acted as though there was no time to involve them. As a result, my Grandmomma’s Alzheimer’s progressed at a rapid rate. The staff on the memory care unit would buy activities out of their own pocket to do with the residents. While on the locked unit, staff would put her against the wall and push the table up to her so that she couldn’t get up. She would be sitting in the same spot every time that I would come to see her, and I promise you someone from our family was there every day. Grandmomma went to the ER with an infection, and the nurse in the ER questioned my momma because she had a large bruise covering her entire chest. No one at the Palmettos would accept responsibility. I would recommend that no one place their loved one at the Palmettos of Charleston!

The Palmettos is one of my favorite facilities to visit. The residents are visibly happy and well taken care of. The staff radiates with joy and you can really tell how much they care about every person that lives there. I would choose the palmettos to send my own loved one!

We moved my family member to The Palmettos memory care assisted living after she was in two other communities and The Palmettos was so much superior to the other places. All the staff, from management to cleaning person displayed exceptionally care and concern. They are well-trained, responsive and kind. We are so appreciative of how they cared for our family member.

I have never met a more kind and caring group of people. All management and staff are committed to providing and safe and loving environment for my 98 year old aunt. I know she is in good hands. I would recommend The Palmettos to anyone looking for a place for there loved one.
