Aventura Senior Living of Overland Park is a lovely place, and I only wish my parents had taken advantage of its services sooner. The extensive renovations to the facility are tasteful and the apartments spacious and cheerful. The nursing staff is welcoming and was ready to help us work out all the details of admission to assisted living. Unfortunately, one of my parents will almost certainly need skilled nursing in the near future, a level of service that Aventura does not offer on site, but has so far declined to consider hospice. My family does not want to take the risk that our parents will be separated as they approach their 70th wedding anniversary later this year, so we will be making other arrangements.

My husband and I moved in to the Independent Living at Aventura Overland Park earlier this year and we have absolutely loved our time here thus far! The staff have gone above and beyond with any and all questions we may have, and the front desk concierge, always greets us with a smile! The activities they offer are top notch and we have enjoyed getting to know other residents through the different programming Aventura has to offer. I would recommend anyone looking for a senior living community in this area to check out Aventura!

We were "sold" on a completely different experience than we received. The bulk of the activities revolved around residents being parked in front of the tv in the common area while the aides sat around on their phones. They allowed my mom to walk around in soiled clothing after meals and charged us for every time they had to help her navigate to the dining room. This is memory care, assisting residents to navigate should be an included expectation. And let's not mention the multitude of times they sent her to the ER in an ambulance when I explicitly told them not to. One time was for a bloody nose. Seriously?! The only time we saw the Memory Care Director was when we had a planned meeting. Otherwise, she was behind closed doors and was not at all active with residents in the community.

Three years ago we moved my Mom from out-of-state to Aventura (then known as Park Meadow). We were worried that at her 90+ age she would have difficulties adapting to a new environment. We shouldn’t have worried! Due to the friendly staff and residents, she made friends immediately and was soon engaged in exercise classes and activities. All members of the staff, from kitchen servers to general managers, show personal concern for every resident. The apartments are an adequate size with sufficient storage. This was an ideal place for my Mom.
