PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE HERE! I got my dad out of here and I am relieved. The staff does not communicate well between shifts and I rarely see them interacting with the residents other than feeding them and giving medication. There is no leadership so staff does whatever they want. They don't offer any activities so all I ever saw were residents sitting around, smoking cigarettes, and watching television. It is concerning that the residents have NO activities to look forward to or at the very least, someone coming in with a positive attitude to lift the residents up on a regular basis. I've never seen the staff going around encouraging residents to take a shower or bath or encourage them to get any physical acitivity. There are no crafts, no games, there is nothing for them to do. Breakfast is served late most days so I often got calls from my dad asking me to bring food. The food they serve is not appetizing. I've seen the small banquet brand pot pies being served for dinner before and on my dad's last day they served a hot dog, half an orange, chips and cookies for lunch. Residents are allowed to smoke outside, but you can smell cigarettes throughout the hallways. On my dad's last day, the place smelled terrible and my dad was dirty and had a basket full of laundry. When they do laundry, they don't put the clothes away particularly for the ones that need that type of assistance like my dad. I had to always ask for tissue for my dad's bathroom even though they were supposedly checking daily for residents needs. NOT TRUE!! I've seen a lot over the last 2 years and I strongly urge anyone if you are looking for a nice place for your loved one and you are considering this place....KEEP LOOKING!!!!! THIS IS NOT A PLACE YOU SEND A PERSON YOU CARE ABOUT. My dad and I learned the hard way. If I could give less than 1 star I definitely would.
