Families beware!!! I wish google would allow a 0 star rating. Their website is deceiving and the owner is not to be trusted. Our mothers stay was thankfully brief but it only took 1 week for Melinda(the owner)to show her true colors. 5 days after my mother moving in, I brought in some personal items, and her favorite treats. Melinda called me within 3 days to inform me that treats have to be locked in a cabinet(administered by staff)to avoid ant infestations. I was unaware of this rule as it is not mentioned in the handbook. Melinda then informed me that my Mother was on a diet per her Dr, Melinda told me her diet consisted of salads for lunch and small portions for dinner. I asked what Dr., Melinda could not give me a name,Melinda lied about the doctors restrictive diet, there was never a Dr. It was a diet, created and enforced by Melinda. Restricting food is against the law. Everyone in my mothers unit was fed the same salad every day with an occasional sandwich or canned soup being offered as an alternative. I witnessed a "nutritional-homemade meal" being prepared by staff, it was On-cor Salisbury steak. This meal is high in sodium and lacking any real nutritional value. My mother was guaranteed a frozen pizza for dinner weekly. The following week my Mother informed staff she wasn't going to eat salad and she would be having lunch with me. I brought in Paneras and placed the leftovers (a cup of chicken noodle soup along with a cup of Mac and cheese) in the fridge. My leaving this really sent Melinda over the edge and she called me her first day back to her office. She wanted to call a family meeting to discuss rules not in her handbook. During this call I was told I had to call her and get permission to bring in outside food, she didn't want staff preparing a "meal" that our mother wouldn't be eating. I informed her that Elizabeth knew mom wasn't eating and no salad was made that day for my Mom. She again wanted me to call her for permission to bring in food. She went on to say that I brought in bread from Paneras and we can't have my mom eating like that as she could end up weighing 400 lbs and her staff would not be able to move her. This is when I couldn't believe my ears and asked her if she heard what she had just said. She didn't like my tone, I didn't like her cold heart. I repeated, do you realize what you just said? She then told me that she would no longer speak to me in person and any communication would have to go thru my mother's caseworker. The meeting was held 3 days later, restricting my mothers diet was barely addressed(again its against the law) The best thing that came out of the meeting was my Mom asking to be moved out of Melinda's group home. It took less then 20 days for all of us to realize this place is driven by dollars and Melinda lost her caregiving heart some time ago. Melinda never looked at my mom as a beautiful human being, she was a paycheck and she wanted her to be light and easy. Do not trust their website, 3 nutritional homemade meals are not on the menu. There is no activity director, residents are made to wake-up up at 6:00 am, after breakfast maybe a shower and then plopped into a common area to watch tv..ALL day. My hope is that the state looks into Melinda's "care facility" and she puts heart back into her facility or sells it. Becke Valente

My friend reside here and it is run like a prison. They are very controlling. You cannot drop by to say hi without 24 hr notice, you cannot visit in the privacy of her room. They dont like us taking her out for the day. Birthdays and are not celebrated or other minor holidays. No fun activities .
