I never do stuff like this. Even if I have a bad experience somewhere, I usually accept it and move on. In this case, Poet's Corner Apartments, while being more or less an acceptable rental, has neglected our unit, and has become disrespectful. I rent a 3-bedroom with two roommates. A few months ago, our dishwasher stopped working. We put in a maintenance request, and the person they sent a week later cleaned the filters without looking further into the problem. I got the impression he was unfamiliar with the equipment. We ran an empty dishwasher, and when it didn't have any problems, we assumed it was fixed. However, when we ran a full load the following day, we got the same problem we had been getting. So we put in another maintenance request. This time, the same guy came back, but instead of cleaning filters, he looked up some YouTube videos to see if he could figure out what was wrong. He definitely didn't know what to do, but we obviously appreciated his efforts despite Poet's Corner Apartments leaving him (and us) high and dry. We ran a full load while he was still there, and it seemed to work fine. A few days later, we started getting the same problem. We put in a third maintenance request. It took weeks for Poet's Corner Apartments to address our request. By the time they did, we had gone without a dishwasher for 2 full months. When they acknowledged this, they decided to replace the unit. That took about a week, and when they tried to install the new unit, they discovered they had the wrong size. So it was another 3 days before we got the new dishwasher. I expressed my displeasure to the leasing agent and said that I thought it would be appropriate to receive some kind of credit. I'm aware that a dishwasher isn't a necessary utility like A/C, but I thought since we signed a lease expecting a dishwasher, 2 months without one was well outside the norm. The leasing agent agreed and said they would do what they could. They got back to me about a week later and said that they wouldn't be able to give us a credit since the dishwasher isn't a necessity. I said I understood, but also expressed my annoyance. The agent sent in reply a sharp message that implied we should be grateful that we have a new dishwasher at all. That, more than anything, brought me to their Google page to write this review. It's a fine property, but the management is unorganized and rude.
