Potomac Place

Have my Father here since 2017. Was originally a 5 star facility but since covid and turnover of all key staff positions it has dropped in quality significantly. Sad, but have hopes that someone can turn this around soon. Pricing increases about 5% per year so it works out close to about double the inflation rate. We have several repair items that have not been addressed for over 6 months. Communication from Management is weak but nursing staff is pretty good. Had several billing issues and mistakes. 11/30 update: Potomac Place corrected repair items after this review was placed. New director promises better communication and has been doing very well making improvements.

Potomac Place truly feels like home. The staff are warm, caring, and genuinely love what they do. You can really see the heart of Woodbridge in this community — from the longevity of the team to the happy, smiling residents who make it such a special place.

My sister Barbara D. was a resident of Potomac Place from August of 2024 until the end of November of 2024. She was recovering from a stroke and her family was able to continue her rehabilitation at this wonderful facility about three miles from her home. I can't say enough about Potomac Place! The facility is beautiful and makes you feel so comfortable living there. So many positives such as the dining facility and the wonderful meals, the beautiful apartments and grounds, as well as ongoing activities led by a fantastic activities director, Sam who always has a smile on her face. The current administrator, Fredy Montes is always available to speak with residents and their family members. It is obvious that Fredy wants the residents to be happy in their new home. He goes out of his way to communicate with families. The nursing staff was very kind to my sister. Potomac Place has its own support staff of physical therapists and occupational therapists. My sister needed these services while living there and the therapists transitioned their services to her home for continued care. The Woodbridge community is very fortunate to have Potomac Place Assisted Living facility as a resource for senior care and independent living.

I just want to thank Tracey Johnson for all of her help and understanding with helping me move my parents into their new apartment at Potomac Place. I had no idea how to even begin this new chapter in their lives. Tracey gave me a tour of the facility, sat down with me and explained everything in great detail. She worked very close with and always was there when I had questions. She loves her job and wants you to feel comfortable with leaving you family members in their care.

My mom moved in the end of January, 2023. Potomac Place changed my mom's life. Yes, she was reluctant at first but now it became her home. She is happy, engaged, and busy with all the activities on a daily basis. When I speak to her, she brags about her newfound friends, the staff, the food, and how she's being taken care of. I cannot state enough how Potomac Place changed my mom's life. Thank you all for the hard work you all do to all your residents. It takes compassion, understanding, and love to make this a place called, "HOME."
