Hearthstone Senior Living

We had high hopes for this senior care facility in our small town, but unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations or needs. From the start, there were several red flags. During the initial tours, many of the rooms had strong urine odors — we were told by the sales representative that this was “normal,” which was concerning. The assisted living units were also not ADA-compliant; the toilets were so low they seemed more suitable for children than for older adults with mobility issues. Throughout our time there (just over five weeks), it became clear that the facility was understaffed and unequipped. Communication was lacking.. What was most disheartening was how we were treated upon leaving. While we were initially welcomed with warm smiles, no one acknowledged us or offered a simple goodbye when we made the difficult decision to move out. I sincerely hope that the new ownership will take the opportunity to make meaningful changes — better staffing, proper equipment, cleaner facilities, and a more compassionate approach to families. We would encourage those interested to tour the facility more than once.

Our Mother/Grandmother has been at Hearthstone for 3 years. Starting out in independent living now assisted. The aids, nurses and staff have been wonderful to her. She has been well taken care of and they are very mindful of her daily needs. The experiences at Hearthstone are too many to mention but always something fun and interesting to participate in. The building and grounds are very well kept and make a beautiful setting for the residents .

We moved my grandmother into Hearthstone about a year ago and it has been a great fit for her. There are so many activities for her to participate in and she has made great friendships. She enjoys all of the staff members and feels at home there.
