I can only edit my review from last year. I again spent several days in a guest room visiting my Mother. The staff and care remains spectacular! I suggest you attend one of the social occasions if you want to see the chemistry between staff and residents. Below is from last year. I just spent 4 night at the Primrose Retirement Community with my mother while visiting from Seattle. I found my mother very satisfied with darn near everything! I enjoyed my time sharing her routine as a resident in the independent living section. There are the usual problems we have seen in 3 prior communities in Seattle and Arkansas. Complaints about food by some at the dinner tables, and some clickish behavior by residents. But all in all this was the best I have seen, and the dining staff is spectacular! The rest of the staff involved in maintenance, services, cleaning and management were always on their game and demonstrated exceptional caring and responsiveness. I want to publicly recognize some whose names I recall, and apologize to those I can't. Dian, Jen, Victoria, Michele, Markus (driver, because Mom said so), Rick, Gina (a volunteer) and as I said, darn near everyone there deserves praise. I wish I could recall more names of the wait staff. Staff resident ratio seemed appropriately good to great. I witnessed the care provided to assisted residents in public settings, and again it appeared pretty darn good. I had little contact with nursing staff. But as a retired RN now 69 years old familiar with the care requirements of us older folks, I saw only competence and caring from my guests perspective. If this review seems over the top, sorry. I have found great relief during both visits a year ago and this recent one. At this time I do not see her wanting to ever move. One draw back if considering this location is that in the event she will need memory care, there is not a unit here to provide that care. Thanks again to all at this Primrose that contribute to my mothers care and happiness!

Primrose staff are exceptional, across all services, whether: nursing, kitchen, cleaning, maintenance or administrators. My mother is over 100 yo and there is NO doubt she would not be alive today if it weren’t for their attentive and vigilant staff. Primrose staff go ‘above and beyond’ on a routine basis. The Mt Pleasant facility is sparkling clean! Even if a light bulb goes out, the maintenance staff replace it immediately. There is no maintenance work that is too small for a timely response. Services are consistently delivered with tender-hearted kindness. Visiting Mom numerous times since her arrival at Primrose 3 years ago, our family has observed, in person, the warm hearts of the staff. No staff person has ever acted “put out” by a request. Mom is from a generation that mowed her own lawn and cleared her driveway of snow for (way too) many years and now the time has come for her to fully enjoy support for the last chapter of her life. It was tough to get Mom to give up driving a car, yet, at Primrose their van takes her wherever she wishes to go: grocery store, general shopping, or every day errands. Primrose activities are both helpful & fun for Mom, and available 7 days/week. There is no reason to be bored at Primrose! During summer, she enjoys keeping flowers on her patio, where she can sit outside and enjoy the “green” views. The fireplace sitting room offers a warm, inviting milieu for winter gatherings. While meals are available in their dining room, or in her apartment, the dining room is a lovely space for social interaction(s). For her, it’s a highlight of each day to share meals with new friends at Primrose. Knowing how well Mom is cared for, Primrose affords peace of mind for her family. What more could we ask for?

What a great way to end the week at Primrose with their ice cream social. Different treat every week! And it is sooo good, I promise you will not feel guilty!

Primrose provides a great place for my clients to live their "Great (late) life now". More that a dozen clients have called Primrose home.

My parents lived at Primrose in Mount Pleasant for the past nine years. I cannot say enough good things about this retirement community. When my parents moved in, they became very active in this community. They would go to the movies, happy hour, ice cream socials, bingo, church, performances, and classes. They even allowed my mother to host her card club in the bistro and provided coffee and lemonade for their events. They made many friends and were far more involved than when they were at home. All of that was great, but the best part of living at Primrose was the caring staff. As my parents aged they required more and more assistance and it was given in an immensely respectful and loving way. I could always depend on the staff to act in my parent’s best interests, and they would often go the extra mile to help the residents. The staff were easy to talk to and I was always impressed by how much they cared about my parents. I am forever grateful that my parents were able to age in place at Primrose. It became their home and the staff was like family.
