My mom was evicted due to staffing unable to tranfer her safely. Seems like "assisted" meant the staff was trained to help her. Lots of residents equally need help moving in and out of bed, shower etc. Very stressful for Alzheimer patients to change routine.

My Grandparents stayed at Brookside and we felt it was a very nice facility. The staff is caring and really great at their jobs of caring for elderly folks.

Altho the fee is $6000 per month, The lunch here is abominable. 1/2 a wonder bread sandwich with thin slice of bologna-style lunchmeat and processed cheese; a few generic corn chips; and some white pudding!! That contains Virtually No Nutritional Value Whatsoever! If I'd stayed to eat it would add $5.00 to the patient's bill! Instead we left for lunch...And at the hospital cafe we both had generous servings of salad bar for a Total of $4.03. Both the Hood River HOSPITAL and the BROOKSIDE memory care facility are owned and operated by PROVIDENCE Hospital in Portland. This does Not constitute 'caring' for our Seniors, nor respect...all were better cooks in their time & Know what good food is! FYI: I only submitted one star because it wouldn't post otherwise. Consider it a Zero star
