I went to this place around 3 years ago and suddenly felt compelled to give it a score after remembering my time stuck here. For the most part, the staff is inoffensive at best and outright negligent and manipulative at worst. I witnessed them lying to a certain girl about her release just to get her to shut up. Then they refused to believe my allergic reaction to the medication they gave me just because my symptoms weren't typical. I was in there for 9 days before I realized that they weren't helping at all. All you have to do is lie about feeling better and they'll release you. The only reason I'm not giving them 1 star is because, in a roundabout way, it DID help me feel better. If only because I realized how much worse life could be. Don't bring your child here.

bottom line is if you're not willing to go on medication, they will kick you out. I came here Monday, met with the medication administrator nurse Tuesday, and she told me and I quote i was "wasting their money if I was going to refuse help" and by help I mean I did not want to go back on medication. she told me I was going to go into psychosis, never come out, and die, if I didn't go on medication. it was the most appalling treatment I've ever seen from any mental health "professional" if you can even call her that. she also insulted my mother, saying she "wished I was her daughter so she could help me" which is insane, why bring my mother into a totally unrelated issue? it took everything in me to not fly off the handle at that comment.

Mostly, the staff here is lovely and seems to care about those of us who get sent here. But it isn't perfect here. I can not stress this enough. I was able to be released the day after telling them how suicidal I was because I said, “I feel fine now.” They took my answer without further questions, called my mom, and let me leave. I was put on Medication that was very obviously too strong and not a right fit for me. They never returned my inhaler to my mom or me, even after we called multiple times on my release day. I ended up having an asthma attack and having to go to the hospital; at the emergency room, my mom was interrogated about the medication I was put on (by the doctor at Restpadd) because it made no sense for me to be on it at my age and weight with that dose. After release, I ended up attempting again and being sent to Santa Rosa Behavioral Health. Where they agreed that whatever treatment I had received before was not helpful and made things worse. The only good thing about this place was the staff. RNs and CNAs are truly helpful and kind. I appreciate them so much because being stuck in this place was hell.

I went here a year ago, I don’t know why it took me so long to do this, but the workers were friendly and kind hearted. The activities we did were fun and helpful one of the Psych was not a good experience, but he’s barely ever on the screen. He never actually comes in, but besides that I think everything overall is amazing, generous workers And kind patients . When I was there, I had a breakdown, and instead of just dragging me to the day room and booty juicing me like another Hospital had done one of the Workers (gage) talk to me in the quiet room there is phone access, shower access and check in and I just think it was a very pleasing experience

Here is everything you may need to know before going in. The staff are nice but will insist strongly on medication And the rooms are mostly clean. They do a skin check before you enter but you do get to keep your under garments on. They do not provide toiletries but they do provide clothes. The food is pretty good but you can't eat in your room. The place is really small and there are only about 4 people in one section of the hospital. If you are under twelve you will get a roommate otherwise you will not. I hope that is everything you need to know and I hope it will get better for you, whoever you are.
