My mother was a resident for 18 months. She was very well respected and taken care of. The people at RCC couldn't have loved her more than her own children, and family. When she passed away recently, they felt the hurt and pain as we did. Thank you to everyone who cared for our mother, and made certain she was safe and taken care of properly.

I thought the Ravenswood Care Center was the standard in nursing homes. I was in and out their various facilities for decades visiting various family members. The staff took great care of each family member making them feel comfortable and cared about. Now that I am working in the healthcare field and enter other nursing homes I realize Ravenswood Care Center is leaps and bounds above the standard! When entering other nursing homes I'm often greeted with foul smells, and unhappy residents lining the walls. I NEVER experienced this at Ravenswood Care Center. Should my parents need this type of care as they age, I will rest easy with them at the Ravenswood Care Center and no where else!

Our mother was housed at the Ravenswood Care Center for the last three months of her life. I’ll tell you the good first. The place is clean and well kept and the majority of the workers there seemed to really care. We did appreciate that. Unfortunately, we ended up being very disappointed with the owners and management. The contract you are required to sign says no refunds and you have to pay up front each month. Mom was in that facility for only a day and a half in May before she was taken to the hospital where she passed away. We thought that, as she was only there a very short time in that month, that the management would have a heart and refund us at least a portion of that money. They asked for a written request, which we supplied them with, but they promptly denied our request citing the agreement we had signed. We had donated a motorized chair and a wheel chair to the center, but that, apparently, did not matter. So, they got an entire months payment for only a day and a half occupancy. Also, we found that you will get an additional bill every month where you are charged outrageous prices for every disposable item that they use in caring for your loved one. Adult diapers, gloves, wipes, cups, fiber supplements, etc. You are charged for everything they use, and all of them you can buy yourself at retail stores for much, much less. Expect to spend at least another $400 every month unless you bring them products that you purchased yourself. But here was the final straw, the reason we are giving them a single star. On one of my brothers last visits to her there, he was walking down the hallway and heard a woman screaming. He then realized that it was our mother. He quickly went to her room to find her in excruciating leg pain screaming for help, and the woman who shared her room informed my brother that this had been going on for some time. She had also went to the staff asking for assistance for our mother and was told that help would come soon, but that had been 20 minutes previously with no response. My brother actually had to go to the nurse’s station and complain loudly before they would take an action. These people are all about making money and will nickel and dime you to death. If your family member is in there one hour past midnight, rest assured they will charge you for the entire month. Think twice before taking your loved one there for care.

The facility is always beautifully decorated.... but I believe patient care is suffering. In my visits to see mom, I have found it takes too long to find an aide or get help when it's needed. Those patients who cannot see, are taken to a separate room for meals to be fed to them ....where I have frequently found them waiting sitting alone and asleep. This saddens me because I'm certain with more staff they would be better cared for. Please stop with "polishing" the outside and work on getting more staff and paying them better so they will stay and take care of the residents who live there. They need more care and human interaction than a 5 minute clothes change, and since the facility is paid well by each resident....it's their duty to see to their needs

My Mother has been here for several months, we couldn't ask for better care. The only problem I have is some of the food Mom can'tand eat. The staff is always there when u need them. Mom seems to be very happy and content.
