I am extremely disappointed with the care my family member received at this rehab facility. He was able to walk when he was admitted, but during his stay, there was little to no effort made to keep him active or continue working on his mobility. We expected physical therapy and consistent support, but that simply did not happen the way it should have. The overall level of care felt very minimal. Basic needs were not handled properly, and communication from staff was lacking. To make matters worse, the food was terrible and did not seem appropriate for someone trying to recover and regain strength. When he was discharged, he was sent home without essential items like a bed pan or proper discharge preparation. It felt rushed and unorganized, and we were left scrambling to make sure he had what he needed. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this facility to ask detailed questions about therapy frequency, discharge planning, and patient care standards before making a decision.

Rawlins House (Pendleton, IN) has proved to be an excellent place for our Mother, who has been dealing with dementia for many years. She went from independent senior living, to assisted living in Fishers, IN to memory care in Indianapolis, IN. Each place was nice, well run and she was able to have her own apartment in Fishers and a studio apartment in Indy. Her place in Indy relied on Medicaid Waivers and when the waitlist became so large and her dementia got worse; we transfered her to Rawlins House in Pendleton. We weren't sure how she would adapt to having a roommate and going to a shower room for showers. The staff on Memory Care, went out of their way to help her adapt and to make her feel welcome. She will have been there a year in February, 2026. Even though the dementia is getting worse she continues to do well in the environment that they have there. She never participated in BINGO before, but she has joined in throughout her time there. She loves to walk (ALOT) and she is able to walk around as much as she likes. During nice weather, they take her out to the courtyard, so that she can walk outside. They have therapy dogs that come to visit and performers that come to sing and play instruments. These are activities that she particularly enjoys. She can be "combative" at times and can refuse to take showers. However, the staff do a great job of getting her to shower regularly and are able to redirect her when she gets agitated. The Medical Staff have worked to change her medication and adjust dosages to help with the agitation, while being very aware of not "overmedicating" her. The staff call with any updates on her meds and share the findings of the medical staff. She can be combative with family, so some things that we might normally do are actually NOT in her best interest. The staff work with us and help with things (like, trying on new clothes) that could bring up issues and upset her. While this is not technically their "job", they have been kind enough and concerned enough about her reactions to do this for her and for us. They have regular Care Meetings, which are attended by her son and I can participate by phone. The dementia is affecting her gait and she has had a couple falls. They assessed her, contacted the Medical Staff on call, contacted us and called for an ambulance when needed. They are very helpful when we have any questions. Jessica, the Memory Care Nurse is wonderful!! She goes out of her way to help our Mother and to help us. Kelly (billing) has always been extremely helpful in answering questions. There have been 2 Coordinators since our Mother arrived, Amanda and now, Jim. Both have been very helpful. The Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy staff have worked with her, also. They strive to help her stay active, as safe as possible and doing things that help her physically. Even though she "graduated" from therapy; they have an additional program where staff will walk with her and work to cue her to be safe, while giving her attention, interactions and the exercise she enjoys. There was an incident in the middle of night, and staff took her needs into consideration---rather than asking her to go back to bed (which can upset her) they have her go out to the common area--have a snack and walk around until she is ready to return to bed. No "power struggles" involved, just looking at what she needs and what works best for her. This attention to detail and working with her (and us) for her best interest is an amazing thing and greatly appreciated by us. We are blessed to have her in Memory Care at Rawlins House (Pendleton, IN). Congratulations to Rawlins House Senior Living, Pendleton, IN for being among News weeks 2026 top ranked Nursing Facilities in the United States and ranked No. 5 (100-149 beds) in the state of Indiana!!

Rawlins House is a special place! The administration staff is very professional and knowledgeable. DON/Cathi, SSD/Kathy and Buisiness office/Kelli are great. Natalie in HR had no reason to get to know me but she did and I truly appreciate the friendship we developed. All go out of their way to help. I will always remember and miss them. Have to also say the nurses are wonderful. Donald, Kevin and Lauren to mention a few. Aides Mariah, Cati, Kindle and Lisa are very good. Housekeeping staff are wonderful and keep clean rooms and building. I would recommend this facility to anyone. Definitely more than a 5 star rating. I think God for blessing me with Rawlins House. Thank you all! God bless and love always, James Hunsinger The physical therapists are outstanding! Megan, Makenzie, Paula, Amin and Hernandez are great!

We had so much fun at The Rawlins House Halloween Trick or Treat & Haunted House! The decorations were amazing, the staff & residents went all out, and the spooky atmosphere was perfect — just the right mix of fun and fright. My kids had the best time (and got plenty of candy 😄). You can tell how much effort and heart goes into making it special for the community every year. We’ll definitely be back next Halloween! 👻🧡

Rawlins House is truly a special place! My mom was a part of the memory care unit for two rehab stays in March 2024 and recently in Aug/Sept 2025 for falls with fractures. Both times she received exceptional, quality care. I was impressed they had a lot of the same staff even 1.5 years later - which can be rare in the LTC setting. Everyone you encounter there greets you with a smile and is beyond helpful. I could have walked in any time and had a full update & report on my mom. If you are looking for memory care for your loved one I would look no further. My mom received better care here than her private assisted living facility in Fishers. I want to give a special shout-out to Taylor, who made admissions a breeze and was always available to answer questions, Megan in therapy (SLT) who goes above & beyond her job in many ways. Lori & Michelle in memory care who provide exceptional care for the residents with the upmost respect & love. Jessica & Jim - the leadership in memory care who were always a phone call away and always stopped what they were doing to talk to me. Renee & Maryann in activities who keep the residents engaged and having fun all day, and so many more wonderful staff members that make that facility feel like a family. If I had to do it over I would’ve put my mom there sooner! I would highly recommend trusting them with your your loved one’s care.
