The Renaissance, I have been here for almost 2 years. I have to move due to managements inability to manage this very old Property. I have attached a letter I found in my Bedroom when I came back from physical therapy. The opening paragraph talks about the "excellence" Senior Lifestyle strives for followed by the bad news that everyone in the building has to move by November 30, 2022. Senior Lifestyle sold the building so they don't have to continue to offer the amenities they are responsible for. How can they do that? Apparently, Senior Lifestyle is a large Corporation that manages several Properties, mostly in the Chicago area. They offer to move us to those 3 Properties listed on the letter I attached which happen to be an hour and 40 minutes(or more)from this location. That's right, because they offer to move us far away they are off the hook!!!!! There is a new executive director, Mark Pulaski. Seems like a reasonable Person, however, since Hurricane Ian slammed us with Water damage, there is a mitigation team that has come in here to kindly leave these dehumidifier machines in our Apartments that are extremely noisy and give off an incredible amount of heat(see image attached)My Apartment thermostat was set at 77° but the temperature was 92°!! I called the concierge to get my AC fixed, they sent one of the Staff members to tell me there is nothing wrong with the AC. It's the machine causing the heat. I reach up to the AC vent to feel nothing cool coming out of it and I am told nope, it's the machine. The next Day I unplugged the machine in the evening and turned down the thermostat in hopes that the AC can catch up. The system ran all night. In the Morning about 6:00am, I check the thermostat reading at 82°. OK, the temperature at least fell a little. So I look at the app on my smartphone to see what the temperature is outside, it's 72°. Logic tells me the air conditioner is not working properly. It's really amazing how so many lives are going to be ruined as a result of this mismanagement. I am very young in comparison to some of these wonderful People so, I have been proactive. Hopefully, with God's glorious grace and mercy, I will be able to relocate to another facility, but the fate of so many look to be heading for disaster. I gave you the bad and the ugly, now it's time to tell you about the good. Brianna is an assistant in the Wellness department, care coordinator is her title I believe. I pray one Day Brianna is in charge of one of these facilities. She has incredible empathy for the the residents. Too many times to count She has come through with just the right wisdom to solve problems, and many times Brianna thinks outside the box to achieve her success. There are many over achieving Med Techs like Taylor who hasn't been here long but has an excellent attitude and is always helpful. I haven't worked with her much, however, many other residents tell me the stories of the great care Taylor gives. Sarah is another talented Med Tech that has came through for me many times. Pat is a great addition to the Staff. I'm going to change gears to the concierge department. Rochelle I believe can effectively operate the every Day tough decision from the front Desk. Rochelle makes quick decisions all Day, She's amazing! Anna is a concierge who is always helpful, professional and sincere. Anna is Spanish and I recall watching her great Meringue moves with one of our residents. Two thumbs up!! Unfortunately, there are many bad attitudes in this place. There is Staff members that perform from a place of privilege. Instead of giving service, it always seems to be the fault of the resident. When you ask for something, certain members of the Staff will interrupt you thinking they know what you're going to say. Some of the Staff will act very abrasive and they do not realize my rent supports their Families!!! I had a heated discussion with one of Staff members today. Instead of offering a solution, this person doesn't want to be bothered and literally started arguing with me and that is acceptable behavior???

This facility has bee struggling under poor management. The owners are currently replacing the mangers of every department. They have a great deal of work ahead of them. That said, with good, caring management this facility could shine. The facilities are very nice, the hourly staff, servers, med techs and housekeeping are for the most part, friendly and caring. What challenges they have can be corrected by additional training and having managers they can trust. Communication between residents and management needs serious attention. The food needs to addressed. They do have a new Chef, attention to special diets ordered by doctors still needs to addressed. As a medical surrogate for a resident the situation is being monitored. If needs are met the review will change. The residents are friendly and welcoming to new residents. Covid has been kept at bay which has made getting to know new residents challenging. Hope it works out don't want to move my client.

I have lived at the Renaissance for almost 2 yrs and it is a really nice place to live. Our CEO, Denise, is excellent, as is Kawanda at the front desk. The nurses, med techs and RA's do a great job of taking care of us. Our chef and his staff keep us fed well. Our activities director keeps us busy every day doing fun things. Our new bus driver, Troy, does way more than drive the bus. We appreciate all he does for us. We have a great therapy team, and housekeeping and maintenance do a good job.

Went to check out this facility with my sister. She is trying to find a great place to put her father in law in. We received a tour from Ramon Morales and he was an excellent guide. Very friendly and informative. Did not seem like a sales pitch at all and more so a genuine approach, which is what puts us at ease on choosing the right facility. The place was updated, clean and quiet. It has a lot of activities for all the residence. Meal selections are great too! They do not use frozen veggies. Needless to say, Ramon helped us decide with the Renaissance for her father in law.
Catherine the great!
My family member has been living here for 1.5 years. I appreciate the care and kindness she enjoys from Rochelle and George. We enjoy the many trips that Dean takes us on. Martina comes up with some great lunch outing locations. And there is nothing better then being greeted by Kawanda and Bobbie. And did I mention Amanda, she shines more brightly then the sun, she exudes calmness and happiness all of the time.
