RETREAT AT LADYS ISLAND

Our parent lived at The Retreat @ Lady’s Island for 3+ years and this was an amazing place with a great staff that was very attentive to their residents. Eventually, we needed to relocate our parent to be closer to family but that was a very hard decision to make. The staff is what made that decision so difficult. If you are looking for a great place for an aging parent in the Beaufort, SC area this facility needs to be at the top of your list. The location offers great water views if that is as important to you as it was to us when making a decision on a facility 3 years ago. And if your loved ones are dealing with dementia, the memory care unit is very attentive to the needs of these residents. Five stars all the way!

We have a wonderful Thanksgiving meal with our father who is a resident. There was a large crowd. The food was so good. And so many selections. Very organized and very enjoyable. It really felt like Thanksgiving. Hats off to Rhoda!!

My mother Coral Arias was a resident of The Retreat's memory care unit for some years. The staff took very good care of mama. I was always greeted by the friendly staff and mom's accommodations were always wonderful and even helped momma eat when she was having trouble feeding herself. They regularly had activities for the resident's to do which would cater to their individual needs. Alzheimer's disease is never going to be a pleasant experience, but the staff at the facility made it bearable. Mom passed on 9/9/25 and it was peaceful. The staff was wonderful during this very difficult time. I would recommend The Retreat to anyone looking for a compassionate and friendly place for your loved one to live. They will always have my gratitude and thanks.

My father, who recently passed away, was a 4-yr resident at The Retreat. We were blessed that he was at that facility. Both management and staff always treated him with respect, unwavering kindness, and as part of “the family”. Round-the-clock med techs and other staff quickly addressed his needs and requests, he was always well-cared for and happy at the facility, and in a clean, well maintained, and beautiful setting. He enjoyed many of the daily social activities and outings. Our family feels blessed for having such a wonderful facility in the Beaufort community, and so grateful for the personalized care and friendship of everyone that is part of The Retreat. I wholeheartedly recommend this facility for elderly, assisted living arrangements for your loved one in The Retreat at Lady’s Island.

The folks at The Retreat at Lady's Island treated my mother with compassion and care during her time there. Their on-boarding process was easy. The rooms are a great size and well appointed as are the common areas. There's a lack of staff turnover which is reassuring and creates continuity of care. They all take the time to get to know their residents and are responsive to concerns and feedback. Mom was assigned to a wonderful gentleman who was tasked with helping her acclimate to her new surroundings. He would update me with his assessment of how Mom was settling in and I appreciated his input! Great outdoor space, fun activities and absolutely stellar food are icing on the cake! I mean the food is absolutely fantastic! But I can't say enough about the staff who went above and beyond during my Mom's last days. Their heart is what makes The Retreat at Lady's Island the best in the Lowcountry! Note: The photos depict Mom's room as we decorated it as well as the view from her room.
