Richland Square

My mom is fairly new here. The staff has shown great care and understanding of the transition to MC. This setting is more like a family setting for dementia residents. Great choice and greatly appreciative of the caregivers.

We made the hard decision to place my mother in a Memory Care Facility a few months ago. For the past 3 weeks my mother has been at Richland Square. The staff has been absolutely WONDERFUL. They have definitely made this transition easier for me and my family but most importantly for my mother. Mom is has gotten acclimated and is very happy at Richland. I can see that she loves the people that are caring for her and that is the most important thing!

I want to highlight the outstanding leadership of the Executive Director, Shemeka, at Richland Square. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the positive atmosphere she’s helped create—warm, organized, and resident-centered. Shemeka takes time to truly listen to families, respond quickly to concerns, and support her staff with respect and encouragement. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the residents’ quality of life and works tirelessly to ensure the facility runs safely, efficiently, and with compassion. Tressa was amazing in educating us and being so caring, warm and responsive to my Dad’s needs as a 83 year old man with dementia. We are month in with my Dad and are very pleased with Richland Square…staff has been on top of things and genuinely care for the residents. Tressa is incredibly professional and will help you through this process for your loved one.

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! The entire facility REEKS of urine and feces, and the patients wander the halls aimlessly with almost zero staff visible. I saw a patient with her pants on backwards, another had no shoes on for hours, and one patient was COMPLETELY NAKED and had defecated in my family members room all over the place. We have hired a care-sitter for my family member and he had to clean up the mess, not a facility member. Please, if you care about your loved one, send them somewhere else. The staff here is nice and I think they do their best, but it is poorly managed and your loved one WILL be neglected and left to suffer.
