In Nov/Dec 2024, I was faced with the task of finding an Assisted Living facility for my mother. I visited several facilities along the Hwy 280 corridor. After discussion with my mom and some follow up visits, we settled on The Ridge at Grandeview (now The Ridge at Meadowbrook). We liked the location and size of the facility … it felt like home. Having said that, there was a period of adjustment for my mother. The transition was made easier by a caring team of nurses and caregivers. Erla and Cheryl were especially loving to my mother as were other staff members. It should be noted that concurrent with my mom’s transition, there were certain staffing changes at The Ridge which greatly elevated the level of care. Loren and Mya came on board and helped to develop a personalized plan of care for my mom. Over time my mother began to thrive. Finally, there are plenty of activities for residents to participate in onsite and even some offsite. I would recommend The Ridge. If you’re looking for safe environment and a collaborative relationship with the team providing your loved one’s care …. choose The Ridge.

The Ridge is a wonderful place of choice if you have a family member in need of senior care. The meals are great, the staff is phenomenal with the residents. They all have a great relationship with the residents. And I just have to brag on the new leaders. They make everything so easygoing. I couldn’t be happier ! Highly recommended

When faced with the difficult decision of moving my mother-in-law into Memory Care, my husband and I toured many facilities in the Hoover/280 area looking for the most comfortable, engaging, caring environment for an active 79 year old. She had been an active resident at Somerby since 2020 but when it became clear she needed the next level of care, we started our search for the right place. We toured The Ridge with Pam and immediately felt like this was the perfect spot. My mother in law is loved and well taken care of and my husband and I have been supported every step of the way by Loren, Mya, and all of the nurses/caregivers as we navigate one of the most difficult journeys and the long goodbye. Erla, the activities director is a ray of sunshine. Amber has brought a passion and commitment to the resident’s experience by ensuring that there are fun and engaging activities and special moments to be shared with family. If you’re looking for a place where your loved one is safe and loved, take a look at The Ridge. The staff and residents have become our extended family and have been the biggest blessing during this most difficult time.

The Ridge at Grandview is a great choice if you are looking to place your parents into an Assisted Living or Memory Care. It was recently remodeled and is situated perfectly on the 280 corridor. Susan and her team will do a great job caring for your loved one.

Our mother moved into Proveer about 9 months ago. It was a big change for her at 92 coming from her own home. I remember Libby who we first met with asked “What do you want for your mother?” I wanted her to find a place where she would be safe and happy. I hoped she could make a few friends and have some fun activities during her day. I can say that has definitely been met at Grande View. Mother’s faith is also extremely important to her and they have been great to meet that need through several added activities. Monica is the activities director and has done an excellent job. She knows her residents and desires to give them opportunities to have fun while helping them cognitively etc…. No place is perfect but they have listened when I have had a concern to come up. I absolutely love that it is smaller than most other places which has allowed for Mother and me to get to know her new community I have and would recommend Proveer at Grande View. Karen Blackburn
