RIDGEWOOD SENIOR LIVING AT HISTORIC SMITHVILLE (NJ25251)

My friend is the guardian for a 94 year old senior who has been at Ridgewood for about 6 months. While the facility is clean and the staff are typically pleasant and professional, there are some major negatives. Personal items get "lost", clothing, new comforters, and niceties that were bought to make the room aesthetically pleasing. On more than one occasion the senior was sent to a doctor appointment on transport (not a free service) without proper clothing. For example, today, pouring rain, the resident arrived at the doctor's office with only a light jacket (a winter coat is in her closet unless it has been "lost"). Only one leg rest was on the wheelchair. The entire time at the office the resident was crying that she wanted to die due to being constipated. This place is NOT CHEAP and should do better but good luck finding anywhere that actually gives the care that residents should receive.

Ridgewood Senior Living is absolutely stunning! It's incredibly spacious and updated while also being located in the heart of Smithville. Not only is it located in a great community, but the staff is also second to none! I had the pleasure of meeting Esha (the Engagement Director) who gratefully gave me a tour of the building. Esha is truly delightful and always brings laughter and joy to everyone she meets. I highly recommend this facility to all seniors!

This afternoon the official ribbon cutting took place for the Grand opening. Charles Dixon the director of Ridgewood at Smithville and his crew of fantastic employees did a great job with the event. Chef Gill along with his crew put out a great buffet of food show casing his cooking talent. My wife and I met thee very kind and pleasant CEO. He spoke about his experience with his grandmother ultimately leading him onto his calling of helping seniors age gracefully. Also the Mayor of Smithville and the Atlantic County State Senator spoke. Janice and I were able to meet a wonderful group of future residents and staff. It was a great afternoon. Thank you Charles for a job well done. The Shaky Devil Carl 😈

Beautiful brand new senior living facility almost open. Touring the property with the Director Lee Barieri who is very kind and compassionate to our family's transition. Lots of activities and living spaces to relax and enjoy. Bistro and restaurants also a happy hour planned.
