Riva Ridge is an outstanding facility, truly best-in-class for all categories from the incredibly warm and kind caregivers to the home-like environment that is impeccably clean and inviting. We moved my grandmother to Riva Ridge from another nursing home where she was receiving very poor care. From the instant we entered Riva Ridge we were comforted by the warm greeting from the staff, the fantastic holiday decor (that felt like home) and the professionalism of Ken Missler (owner) and his wife Ivonne (staff manager), whom take great care to ensure that all residents are well cared for, comfortable and happy. During our visits, my grandma would tell me about the games she had played that week, the momentos she had received and many other beautiful moments that created memories of joy during her last year of life. From the day she arrived until her passing, the staff of Riva Ridge did a phenomenal job of caring for her, keeping my family apprised of any changes/needs that she had, and giving us all peace of mind that she had the best possible experience for her final year. I am forever grateful to Ken and Ivonne and the Riva Ridge staff for creating an environment of care, love and respect for my grandma, and I will always remember them with gratitude.

When we searched for a place for my sister in law, we knew that Riva Ridge Assisted Living was the right place as soon as we stepped inside . It is truly a home. The residents are treated with love and respect and fed wonderful home cooked meals catered to their needs. The Christmas luncheon featured a variety of meats and sides and all were delicious. I even asked Ivonne for some of her recipes! Ivonne and her staff went above and beyond in preparing and cooking a wonderful meal and making meaningful memories for the residents. Many thanks to Ken and Ivonne for the homey, loving facility that they have created.

Riva Ridge Assisted Living was an absolute blessing for my family and my father during the last 3.5 months of his life. From the moment we entrusted him to their care, we knew it was the best decision we could have made. The facility itself, run by owner Ken, is wonderfully cozy and inviting, with a warm, home-like atmosphere that immediately put us at ease. It’s not just a facility—it truly felt like a second home for my dad. The care team was exceptional—every nurse and caregiver loved on my father as if he were their own, which gave me immense peace of mind. They made sure he was comfortable and well-cared-for in his final days, and I am forever grateful for their kindness and compassion. What really stood out was how organized and responsive the staff was. I was kept in the loop on every aspect of my dad’s care, and they handled all changes in his health with such professionalism. When the time came for his passing, they handled everything with the utmost care and sensitivity. I couldn’t have asked for more in those difficult moments. Riva Ridge truly does everything by the book—this is a trustworthy, well-run home, and I would recommend it to anyone in the Austin or surrounding area looking for a caring, compassionate place for a loved one who needs extra care. My dad was in good hands, and I will always be grateful for the love and care they provided.

My mother's care at Riva Ridge was exceptional. I only wish I could have found them sooner. The care staff was kind and conscientious, bonding with her and creating a compassionate, comfortable and safe home for her during the final months of her life. The week before she passed, she celebrated her 95th birthday with all the staff crowded into her room with the family singing "Happy Birthday". It was a sweet moment of celebration that we will never forget.

Riva Ridge Memory Care was exactly what my mother needed. The personalized attention, the humor, and the family-like atmosphere fed her spirit as well as her body. She responded to the loving environment. The staff is nurturing and honest, as much a help to me as to my mother. I got an update every time I called or visited, and felt welcome at any time. The owner lives on site, and is very involved, adding an extra layer of confidence. The meals are enthusiastically received, and individual preferences taken into consideration. I would recommend Riva Ridge to anyone seeking a warm, caring refuge, with great staff to resident ratios. It is located on a large tree filled lot with access to large porches. This is the hidden gem of memory care!
