EDIT: I left this review based on my experience with River Terrace in Bluffton. Three days later, they've changed their Google listing name to Miller's Merry Manor. ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD. River Terrace's own Admissions Director, Taylor, and Marketing Director, Anita, both misrepresented facts and even lied to my family about the services they provide at this facility to my mother's detriment. I believe we dodged a bullet by not having her placed here. I wish you all the best in finding genuine, caring, and knowledgeable facilities for your loved ones.

Great 1st impression! Came in for a tour and was impressed with the cleanliness. The facility has a pleasant smell which was appreciated. The staff knew all of the residents names and seemed to have a great relationship with them as we passed by. It was “happy hour” during my tour. The residents were all chatting and smiling while eating cheese trays and cake pops. I could tell the staff cared about the residents and cared for the facility as if it were their own home.

The treatment my loved one recieved from this place is terrible. There were a few really good nurses/cnas but most of them lacked basic compassion and kindness. My grandmother had a SEVERE decline in her health pretty quickly and no one took it seriously. No one cared enough to look into it or contact a doctor. It was "All in her head, she was crazy, making it up," etc... The amount of mental abuse from the staff was unnecessary. I also would like to mention the slow response times and poor food quality.

I visited River Terrace today. It was charming! I met several staff members including Kyle, Mark, Andrea, Teresa as well as many others. All were very pleasant and many actively involved with residents celebrating Mardi Gras. The residents wee having a great time. The building was clean and inviting. It is definitely worth touring. There are too many options to share in this review.

A member of my church is a resident here at River Terrace Retirement Center. She is impressed with some of the staff that are caring and cooperative to her and the patient's needs. The facilities are very nice but space is limited when you down-size from a residence to a retirement community "home," to a much smaller "apartment" to live in for the rest of your life! She has developed many new friends, some good, some not so cooperative, and has participated in small groups and the community council for residents. It has been a truly growing and learning experience for her at a new stage in her life!
