Who is in charge there? 7 years ago, my wife and I were looking for an independent living faculty for my mother in law. We were very impressed with Bay Towers at that time. Fast forward a few years and I'm looking for a similar place for myself... So I look into the same place I was so impressed with. My experience has been nothing but frustrating. I stopped by because the sign says "come in for a tour". I do, but there's no one to assist. Apparently there is only one "Salesperson" (Geraldine). She doesn't answer the phone when the front desk calls her. I leave a handwritten note and I'm given her card. Things can happen, maybe it was just mislaid. A few days later, I call the number and leave a voicemail. No harm, no foul at this point. Nearly a month goes by with no response. So I contact the website requesting information. I'm expecting that I'll be contacted the next business day. Nope. Several days later I finally get call from Geraldine. I don't go into my frustrations at that point, figuring that I'll finally get the information I'm needing. She clearly hasn't read the email I'd written. I explain it all for the third time. We talk options, she needs to look into what's available and what's coming available. She'll promised tocall me back that afternoon, "either way". Her promise, her words, not mine. After a week of hearing nothing, I crossed them off my list. Clearly not the organization I remember. Not worth it to try and educate them, I'll just move on. The sole reason I'm now writing this review? I got a call this morning from Geraldine that was so disrespectful and unprofessional that it's frankly stunning. My career is entirely customer service and sales focused, with over 3 decades of management of sales/marketing. I've seen some doozies. She had no notes from our previous conversations. She had no memory of me at all. She offered a completely patronizing and insincere apology. It was condescending, insulting, and felt like gaslighting. So now I'm furious, and need to let people know about her behavior. If I'm being treated this poorly during the"sales pitch", I can't trust that it's going to be better when I'm needing assistance. Sadly, there is no way to speak with anyone else. No way to identify or contact whoever might correct the situation. So again: Who's in charge over there? It's this your business model now?

I was treated with respect and joy and not pushy sales techniques! Salvador was calm and instantly comfortable as I rode up the elevator to hopefully find a "forever home" at this point in my life. I was afraid that I would experience carpeted hallways (as I had in other senior tours) that smelled like everyone's last night dinner! Instead, I was greeted with greyish/white vinyl floors that were bright and open and "smell-free"! The moment I walked into the studio apartment #909, I said "YES!" in the first moment as it was open and light and welcoming!

I truly enjoyed my tour with Salvadore. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and informative. He answered all of my questions along with introducing me to some of the residents. This made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. They shared their experiences at Bixby Knolls which was very positive.

I would give Bay Towers six stars if I could. My 93-year-old mother is happier than she’s been in years and we are thrilled. Here’s the thing: IT FEELS LIKE FAMILY. Mom has made so many friends - she tells me she feels deeply connected and safe. Bay Towers is lively and full of activity - live music, parties, outings, and exercise. Mary Lou (Nursing Director) takes wonderful care of residents, watching over them as if they were her own. Carmela is *amazing* as Activities Director: Her smiling face and enthusiasm are infectious. She keeps the seniors laughing, moving, dancing and creating every day. My mom’s apartment is beautiful – light and airy. The daily caretakers are thoughtful and sweet. They help transport mom to appointments and watch over her daily needs with care and thoughtfulness. My mom even receives onsite physical therapy 1-2 x a week. She’s on the fourth floor in Assisted Living. The price is very reasonable for all that she receives. (The SNF Floors are under somewhat different management, I understand.) Yes, the elevators are slow and once or twice there were issues with the building HVAC system. But technicians arrived promptly and cooling was restored. My mom is thriving: she’s laughing, cheerful and bright. We visit several times a week and always find the residents happy and engaged. Thank you, Bay Towers. 🤍

Recently, I took my mother and her husband to take a tour of this facility. My mothers husband gave them a deposit of $2000+ for an apartment. They were denied the apartment and it's been a month and have not recieved their deposit of $2000+ back.Mind you this is a senior living apartment and most if not all live off a fixed income. So isn't this a form of elderly abuse by not returning their money. Then the question lies, how many seniors have they done this too. How much money have they stole from seniors and denied the apartment rental. How long does it take to return a cashiers check? Denial should mean immediate refund right? As a tenant the law states 21 days to return a tenants security deposit. But, if they never moved in how long to get your money back. They need their money to move in somewhere else. The money was given to Salvador, Salvador said Ilene is the Business Office Manager who control the refund. My mother husband has spoke to Ilene 2x and still haven't received the money back. Ilene said she has to speak with someone regarding the refund. Long story short. They robbed the seniors and are now passing on the responsibility of the refund.
