Hopefully in leaving this review, I can protect another family from going through what we went through. During the time my father-in-law lived here, the level of neglect I witnessed personally was shocking. I don’t say this lightly — but this facility did not provide even basic consistent care or basic human dignity from what I saw on multiple visits. We went through over 24 hours with no AC and weeks after that where it was 76 degrees or higher in the house. Staff and residents were complaining about how hot it was, and nothing was done. This was not an isolated moment, it was a pattern of “we don’t care enough to fix things.” Residents were severely neglected, going periods without being given water or being changed and my father-in-law was refused a bed bath by workers. He was handled roughly when they moved him. Nothing about it felt gentle, respectful, or appropriate for someone at that stage of life. What made this even worse: when concerns were brought up, instead of things improving, the facility became more rude, dismissive, and retaliated against us. The neglect of my father-in-law worsened. Family members were treated disrespectfully, yelled at on the phone, ignored when entering the home, and the cost was suddenly increased after concerns were raised, instead of them fixing the problem. Watching someone’s end of life is already heartbreaking. Watching it while a facility acts like compassion, communication, and basic care is optional made everything 100x harder. This was my personal experience, but based on what I saw, I would never trust this facility with someone I love. Please find a safer and more compassionate environment for your family member.

I am writing this because I want to prevent another family from going through what we did. Over the last months of my father’s life, while he was a resident here, my family witnessed severe neglect and extremely poor care repeatedly by multiple staff members. In my personal experience, medications were forgotten or given incorrectly (including anti-seizure medication, which resulted in my dad having a grand mal seizure which almost killed him). There were many times he went very long periods without water, food was delayed, and there were days he was left unchanged for over 24 hours. One day, my dad was left to feed himself, and he spilled hot soup on his legs, causing severe burns. Lights/TV would be left on all night while he slept even after we asked many times for them to be shut off. We also reported ongoing safety issues — including residents who weren’t supposed to walk without assistance wandering the home at night and one even wandering out of the house and into the street, and being found by a good citizen. When we brought up concerns, instead of care improving, the treatment toward my father and us as a family got worse. Their communication became hostile, rude, and extremely retaliatory. The owner sudden started finding reasons to raise our monthly payments after we voiced concerns. My father’s last months should have been peaceful and respected. Instead this facility made a painful time even more traumatic for him and for us. This is only my personal experience, but based on it, I would never recommend trusting this facility with your loved one. Please look elsewhere. Your family deserves compassionate care.
