As a chaplain who visits regularly, I’m truly grateful for the individualized care and genuine compassion the staff at Sunrise of Arlington shows their residents. They treat each person with dignity, attentiveness, and heartfelt kindness. A special thank you to Zakia, Nalani, Roslyn, and Rachel for the extraordinary care and presence you offer every day. I’m grateful for each of you and the way you support both residents and families.

I was very inexperienced with elder care when we originally found ourselves looking for assisted living for my bachelor uncle. Fortunately the Sunrise staff kindly guided us to understand what he needed and help get him settled in this cute, mansion-like assisted living home. I feel the staff went above and beyond with his complicated health situation, including answering our many questions, changing to a more accessible room when needed, advising when companion care might be appropriate, and expediting his return to Sunrise after a rehab stay. I’d like to give a special shout out to the nurse, Zakia, for her strong advocacy for my uncle’s wellness.

If you are looking for a place for your parent, look no further. Let me begin with the weeks leading up to my mom moving in. The staff at Sunrise Arlington were full time counselors to me - answering my texts well after business hours and spending long periods of time counseling me through the difficulties of transitioning my mom. Liz was our salesperson and she was so easy to talk to and so encouraging and validating of my concerns. She went above and beyond! She continues to be a cheerleader and a bright light at Sunrise whenever I see her. Our first tour of Arlington Sunrise was with Rhonda Bell, the activities manager. It was a Sunday afternoon and she was so filled with energy, joy and kindness towards every resident we encountered that it was staggering. My husband and I left so convinced that anyone who got to spend time around Rhonda would be a well loved person. Once we chose Sunrise Arlington, this energy and enthusiasm continued - it is so clear that Rhonda cares deeply about the welfare of each resident and treats them like family. Her hugs are unmatched! When she embraces my mom, I ask for a hug too! She is always excited about any activity she plans for the residents. I walked in the other day and could hear her laugh from the front door. The residents (Including my mom) were all in chef outfits making homemade waffle cones and eating ice cream and having a lovely time. Roslyn has also been a shining beacon at Sunrise for us. She cares for every detail of my mom's experience and is constantly reminding her that she is now family. I first encountered her on my second tour when she was in the midst of a staff meeting. She stopped what she was doing, introduced us to everyone on the exceptional team and made sure we felt welcome. Her welcoming smile, and unwavering commitment to excellence is a cornerstone of Sunrise Arlington. Wherever she is in the building, if she knows I am there she will come and greet me and check in to make sure my mom's experience is exceptional. Zakia is head of medical care at Sunrise. She is mindful and on top of every medical need the residents have. What I have been most impressed with is that despite having so many responsibilities, she always pauses at the end of each conversation and asks me if she can be of further help. This is the spirit of all of the staff at Sunrise - they want to go the extra mile in making sure the residents are thriving. Darren is at the front desk when I arrive, He is always willing to find an answer to any of my questions or to find my mom and bring her to the phone. He is a welcoming face for Sunrise Arlington. Rachel came in as director of Sunrise Arlington after my mom moved in. She always is smiling, willing to help, and committed to Sunrise Arlington being an excellent home for her residents. The support staff that she oversees could not be kinder - and each knows my mom by name already. There continues to be more I could say but I will just summarize. I had the idea that I would check my mom into assisted living to begin the process of watching her decline. Instead, my mom is coming back to life. You have never met a woman more resistant to "a home' than my mother and each day I see her she speaks about how happy she is and how exquisitely lovely everyone is to her. I am just flabbergasted and exceptionally grateful. I also want to add that Rachel, Rhonda, Rosslyn , Zakia and their staff hold unwavering standards starting at the way they dress for work, how they decorate for every holiday, and the wonderful brunch parties they throw with delicious food. Thank you Sunrise Arlington for making this next step in my mom's journey so fantastic!

It’s taken me a while to come here and write this but Sunrise took great care of my mother. She was there in 2021-2022. The staff were always very welcoming and friendly. Her room was a good size and always clean. I appreciated the atmosphere they tried to foster to make it feel more like home. The facility was secure. I used to come have dinner with her and some of the residents on week days and everyone seemed to be enjoying their time there. We also had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner there as well. They were professional until the very end.

Sunrise of Arlington is a very welcoming and supportive place for a loved one with memory issues. The staff is caring, well-trained, and responsive to the needs of residents and their families. They make great efforts to involve and inform family in the care plan. I highly recommend Sunrise of Arlington for families needing memory care for a loved one. I toured several facilities in the area and chose this one for its small size and convenient location.
