My mother-in-law moved in last year when it was Truewood by Merill and everything was great. But since the new company has taken over, everything has gone down hill. They laid off most of the staff without replacing them. Residents are waiting over an hour to get their meals, and when they do the food is inedible. They have nurses serving the food and working in the kitchen because they fired everyone. This is against the law unless these nurses have food handler's certification, which I doubt. Since the nurses that are still on staff are having the serve food, they are not able to attend to the residents like they are supposed to.

The staff were all very helpful when moving in my cousin. Beau was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. If he was unsure if something he would ask and get back to us promptly. Very clean, home like environment. Prices are better than most in Fresno Clovis area. We would recommend Truewood in Clovis to those looking for a home to age in place, since they offer independent and assisted living at many levels of care. Update - May 2024 Our family continues to be very happy with Truewood by Merrill in Clovis. My father is very happy with the entire staff. They are so friendly and caring to his needs. The activities director plans amazing things for the residents. There are so many fun and active things for the residents. The weekly outings are a highlight for my father - lunches in the community, baseball games, shows, etc. Our family is so thankful for Truewood in Clovis! A huge shoutout to the dedicated staff! Our family is extremely happy with Truewood by Merrill in Clovis. Beau and Marissa made the process of moving in very easy during a difficult time in my father’s life. Everyone from the receptionists, bus driver, activities director, dining room staff, housekeeping services, etc. have gone above and beyond to make my father feel cared for and gave him a sense of belonging. The residents are friendly and he enjoys visiting in the dining room. A number #1 priority for my father is great food. He has lived there for 5 months and loves the food! We are so grateful for Truewood!

My husband and I have lived in Truewood/Clovis for four years. The facility offers a Bible Study on Wednesdays and a worship service on Sundays which we enjoy. All of the staff from the front desk, activity leader, dining staff, housekeeping, bus driver, etc., always greet us with our names and a smile and make us feel at home. As we got to know the other residents, it began to feel like a family. Many activities are provided and there is usually something of interest for everyone who chooses to participate. The dining staff are very considerate and try to provide the extra touch for special requests and they do it with a smile. The food is good and the home baked cookies are excellent. The med staff and resident assistants are so helpful and look out for the care of the residents that need their special attention. Housekeeping cleans our apartment weekly and do it with a smile. Laundry staff do our linens and towels weekly and personal items as well. Great place to live.

We have been so incredibly happy with our experience here. Moved in my mother-in-law in December, and it's been a true joy working with the staff. They helped us through our beginning anxieties and were patient with us when things got difficult for us. The staff is kind, helpful, and unbelievably caring. Through all the ups and downs of caring for and assisting our family, Truewood has gone above and beyond. Their communication is top notch, the facility and activities are engaging, and we couldn't be happier. I'm so glad that we found Truewood. We truly feel like family here.
