This is an excellent place to recover after surgery. It is a beautiful building with a lot of garden areas for sitting outside and visiting with family and friends (the front entrance was our favorite with its benches and rocking chairs). Honestly, we did not meet one unfriendly or inattentive staff member and the entire SNF is kept clean. PT and OT staff are all well trained, understanding of patient capabilities while still pushing to achieve stated goals (kudos to all of them and our sincere thanks). Nursing staff are all friendly, caring and easy to get along with (Aliyah, very sweet). Wound care nurse Kristel is excellent and fun. CNAs are so helpful and the facility couldn’t operate as nicely as it does without them (Alba, Karmen, Kristina, everyone of them). What a gem they have with Alice in Wonderland, we all should get the opportunity to cross paths with her! And our heartfelt thanks to Lily!

Great skilled nursing facility! Very organized and staffed. Nurses and CNA are doing great job. All patients are well taken care of. Exceeding expectations.

My Mother was transferred to Alta Skilled nursing last week. She was transferred from the hospital with 3 hrs notice. I was really impressed how prepared they were for her, name on the door, toiletries, everyone on the team came in within an hour on arrival introducing themselves and assessing her needs. The next day I called to check on her and they sad she was sitting with the nurses and had breakfast in the dinning room. Mind you she has not left bed in a week. Fast forward a week later and they have her dressing herself and walking with a walker. She is in her late 80's with two broken ribs and it has been very painful. Her care team has been receptive, positive and made great progress with her in just a week's time. She loves it here so much she will be moving into an apartment on the assisted living side when she leaves skilled nursing. I am just very impressed.

I visited my mom every day to advocate for her unique needs, but the communication never reached the right people. I understand that facilities are often understaffed, but this one needs to do a better job of trusting families when we raise concerns--we know our loved ones best. There was a clear lack of accountability regarding a bed sore, growing edema and pain that was allowed to worsen despite our concerns. We had to escalate the issue to the director of staffing, who finally took some action--but even then, they tried to minimize the situation and dismiss my mom's pain. The Director of Nursing passed us off to my mom's assigned RN and LVN, who often seemed completely unaware of her condition or care plan. My mom suffered for nearly three weeks due to untreated diverticulitis. Rather than investigate the cause of her pain, the staff defaulted to medicating her without looking deeper. After reporting blood in her stool on a Saturday call, I arrived Monday to find the nurses unaware of the symptom--until they suddenly decided it was serious once I brought it up again. It was only then that they discussed rehospitalization, something I had already pushed for earlier if her condition worsened. The communication here was consistently poor. The doctor hadn't even reviewed the lab results I requested, and the nurse practitioner seemed confused both times I spoke with her, admitting, "I just have too many patients to keep track." Stay away from this place if your loved one has unique or complex medical needs. Their system is reactive, disorganized, and deeply flawed.
