Seaside Manor is a hidden gem in Ormond by the Sea! We moved my Mom in about a month ago and she loves the family atmosphere and helpful staff who treat her exceptionally well. We feel she is safe and secure and well taken care of. The best part is she is only a couple of miles away! Thank you to all of the fabulous staff!

From the moment that you enter the front door you're greeted with smiles and welcoming faces. Seaside Manor is a smaller facility that truly generates a feeling of comfort and coziness. The homelike atmosphere is inviting when considering living facility options for family and love ones. The entire staff is caring and helpful with all the administrators fully involved. The environment is warm with a genuine focus on the health and well being of the residents.

My Brother was a resident of Seaside Manor and recently passed due to his COPD. I can't say enough about the caring nature of Liz the Administrator and Mary the head of nursing care. My brother and his little dog were were made to feel very welcome there. During the final weeks leading up to the passing of my brother, Mary called me personally to inform me of his condition. She even went as far as to call my other brother out of state. Family relationship situations can be tricky, yet through that Mary kept us informed. I witnessed first had the care and concern by both Mary and Liz during the final days of my brothers life. They really care. The facility is under new management now and I believe there are plans to do some painting and cosmetics and cleaning which is needed. Despite some cosmetic appearance issues, I have no doubt that the individuals that are residents there are cared for and accepted as part of a family. My brother could be difficult and I know that there were MANY extra things that were done for him that were done out of care for a person and not on his treatment plan. My brother was in the right place when he left this world. Thank you for taking such good care of him.

I stopped by to visit a loved one that lived at Seaside Manor, I love this facility the management staff has always been very nice and friendly. The Executive Director Liz is also very nice, a very busy lady but always takes the time to stop and talk to her residents and family, it shows that she really loves her job and truly cares. My loved one loved it there at Seaside because she was treated like family. It is clean and the food is excellent. All of the management staff truly care about their residents. I highly recommend Seaside to anyone that has a loved one that needs to be cared for.

The ownership of this ACLF should be ashamed. In the several months my mother was a resident, they had a turnover of 4 (FOUR) administrators, only one of which was ever available to family members for the discussion of serious issues. When we placed mother there, the receptionist at the time (who left months ago and still has not been replaced; that's right...there is NO receptionist) told us that the quoted price was all inclusive. Period. My mother, who has mild, pre-senile dementia and for whom I have a Durable Power of Attorney and am Health Care Surrogate, was then brought in to sign the contract without my being present and told that she would have to pay an additional $375. per month, OVER the 'all-inclusive' price, just for them to hand her medication twice a day. They told us when she arrived that their bus would provide transportation for her to church, the bank, the doctor and several outings per month. Afterwards, the refused to take her to church or the bank and she missed several doctor appointments because their bus was "broken down." The only 'outings' ever provided were to Publix or a Dollar Store once a month. No outside social activities were ever provided. The place is in deplorable condition and bug infested. They tried to blame the problem on my mother's small dog; however, when we went to get mom to move her to a better place, her room was filthy and there were roach motels everywhere. There were literally 25-30 roach motels in her one room and it appeared NOTHING had been cleaned or dusted EVER, despite the fact that weekly housekeeping was to have been provided in the 'all inclusive' price. Even if a dog has fleas that has NOTHING to do with roaches. The place was understaffed from day one, the food was unappetizing and barely edible. Assigned seating was mandatory in the dining room, separating men from women, with NO EXCEPTIONS allowed. Any afternoon or evening when attempting to call, all you get is an unintelligible recording. No person to answer the phone or respond. Ever. Finally, there is an extremely surly, overbearing, elderly woman who is apparently a nurse, who actually "runs" the place. She is well past her prime (in her 70's) and SHOULD NOT be permitted to supervise other employees nor the number of residents who exist there. I do believe she tries her best but is simply in well over her head. She is rude to the point of being abusive to the residents and their families, assumptively due to overwork. I honestly believe she never bothered to read my mom's medical paperwork to understand her issues. Again, I blame ownership for all the issues at Seaside Manor. I would not ever recommend ANYONE take a loved one to live there. I only wish I could give them zero stars instead of one; unfortunately, however, you cannot leave a review without providing at least one star. 7/7/18 MY RESPONSE TO ADMINISTRATOR'S RESPONSE: LIZ: you are not telling the truth. My mother never met you as you were not even employed at Seaside when she left! I feel it is important to respond to your lies. Sandy was the Administrator there when mother moved in. She never spoke with mother or myself and always referred us and our issues to Monica who is unqualified as an administrator and rude. When Sandy left there was a short term interim administrator for about 3 weeks whose name escapes me and then Kristina (sp?) whose tenure was very short and who left about 2 weeks before mom did. Kristina was a wonderful person and did her best to address issues but was too understaffed to have an effect. I also got the feeling from her that ownership didn't give a damn or want to address any issues, so, get your facts straight. In your so-called "response," you never addressed any of the issues I brought up. The promises made and never kept. The isolation of the residents. The horrible food. The understaffing. The lack of cleanliness and care of the residents. The cold atmosphere. Nice try. I wouldn't let my dog stay at Seaside Manor for free!
