Our family has had an incredibly positive experience with The Sequoia in Lacey. From the very beginning, the assessment process and overall setup were smooth, efficient, and surprisingly stress-free. During a time that can feel overwhelming, their team made everything feel manageable and well-supported, specifically Molly and nurse Trisha. The staff has gone above and beyond to accommodate my grandmother and our family, answering questions promptly, explaining each step clearly, and showing genuine compassion throughout the process. It’s clear they truly care—not just about logistics, but about the comfort, dignity, and well-being of their residents. Knowing that my grandmother is in a place where she is supported, respected, and welcomed brings our family real peace of mind. We are extremely grateful for the kindness and professionalism shown to us, and we feel confident that The Sequoia is the right long-term home for her. Highly recommend to any family looking for assisted living with a thoughtful, caring, and attentive team.

In general, I would say The Sequoia has been an excellent new home for my parents as they transition for the first time away from living independently in their own home. But it is not the building (although it is very nice), the rooms (that are also very comfortable), the other residents (that have been very welcoming to my parents) or the food (which is very good) that has made such a difference in helping my parents adjust to this new phase in their lives. The real difference maker has been the staff. They are professional, helpful, and kind. In our experience, staff has gone out of their way to make adjustments where they can to make my parents lived experience easier and more comfortable. Carolyn, Molly, Carrie, Deanna, Eva and so many others have made a real effort to help my parents successfully adjust to their new home. While this transition has been hard at times as my parents adjust to this new life, staff has been there to help and support us. We initially toured The Sequoia after researching assisted living facilities in the greater Olympia area. On paper, The Sequoia stood out as one of the best facilities in the area. Our experience over the past two months has validated that research and we are very happy with our decision.

The Sequoia has been a great place, and the staff really make it feel that way. Everyone is kind, patient, and truly cares about the residents. The food team deserves a huge shout-out, the meals are genuinely impressive. Everything tastes fresh, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully made, not like the bland or repetitive food you sometimes find in care communities. The portions are just right, the ingredients seem high-quality, and there’s always a nice mix of comforting favorites and healthier options. The kitchen staff check in to make sure the food hits the mark and are always willing to make adjustments if someone wants something different. Overall, they not only provide solid daily care but also serves meals that actually feel enjoyable and comforting, making the place feel even more like home.
