SHEM CREEK AT SOUTH BAY

My Aunt has been there for about 3 years. There have been ups and downs. Sabrina Washington, the new activities director, has been a definite plus in working with and respecting the residents. The improvement in the quality of life since Sabrina has been in this role has greatly improved. My Aunt's and other resident engagement is apparent. Candy Cure, the director, has been a welcome change and always helps us with resources and navigating issues. She is often seen with the residents as well as other administrative staff. She is truly there to make life good for everyone. The 3rd floor CNA‘s have taken great care and patience with my Aunt. Each one of them takes time to get to know the residents. My Aunt is lucky to know this team.

My father, who lives alone and is quite independent, moved from South Bay to Shem Creek 6 months ago due to eventual legal blindness. I visit him twice weekly. There is much to say that is positive: very acceptable parking, very clean facility, kind and pleasant staff, medications delivered correctly, eating facility down the hallway, self designed meal plan, clinic and health providers one floor down, separate or together dining arrangements, gym/exercise equipment one floor down, attractive out door space, separate or together dining arrangements. Kelleye, Sabrina, Sebrina, Fatima, and Gary are some of the many employees who deserve praise.

This five-star review is specifically intended to acknowledge and commend a select group of employees who have demonstrated exceptional kindness and attentiveness towards my parents, who have resided in the Assisted Living facility at Shem Creek for the past year. Thank you Sabrina, Tim, Dori, Sebrina! I sincerely appreciate all you do for my parents! **Sabrina, front desk receptionist, is always pleasant and friendly. She consistently goes above and beyond to provide exceptional assistance and answer any questions that I may have. I frequently contact her for various inquiries. **Tim Moultrie, transportation director, is always a lifesaver when it comes to getting my parents to their appointments on time. He makes sure they’re dressed appropriately and helps them get on and off the bus. He treats them with such kindness! He’s always ready to lend a hand in a pinch! **Dori, the CNA caregiver on the third floor, demonstrates exceptional kindness and attentiveness towards the residents she is responsible for. She consistently prioritizes their needs and well-being, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction. Her dedication and compassion make her an invaluable asset to the facility. **Sebrina Washington, the activities coordinator, consistently provides residents with engaging and enjoyable activities. Her enthusiasm and commitment to fostering a sense of community are evident in her efforts to involve all residents in a wide range of entertaining pursuits. Her genuine care and dedication to the well-being of her residents are truly commendable.

My mother came alive when we moved her to South Bay's Memory Care. They have an awesome staff ... Well funded i.e. there are plenty of them on site every day. I get picture updates and when I drop in to visit unannounced Mom is almost always engaged in something, gardening, playing, group social, dancing. Highly recommend this facilty

Shem Creek at South Bay is a gorgeous community filled with loving residents. The atmosphere when you enter the facility makes you feel like home and I would love to have my family member stay here. The staff is always smiling and interacting with the residents. 100% would recommend this facility to ANYONE for their loved one.
