Shields Comfort Care

Moved mom in 2nd of Jan 2026. It seemed like everybody I asked a question to said "I just start let me find out" A lot of new people just started working. Kitchen did not follow Diet. The ones handing out the diet didn't know of a diet to follow. Same clothes on for two days and even went to bed in them. BUT they ( head of administration and head of wellness ) were working hard to get everything right and there was a lot of improvement then they were replaced with new people..now we can't get through on the phone, and when you can get to an answering machine nobody returns your calls. Hospital needed a list of meds so I had to go there in person get a list and have them fax it to the hospital. Come to find out it was the wrong list, so they faxed a new list the next morning, with no explanation, or even to call me with the update. I hope there is some improvement.

I’m very disappointed with the level of care my grandma has been receiving at Shields Comfort Care in Saginaw. Every time me and my family come to visit, she smells strongly of urine, as if she hasn’t been properly cleaned or cared for. It’s heartbreaking to see her like that, and it raises real concerns about how often residents are being washed and attended to. Families shouldn’t have to worry about their loved ones sitting in that condition. I truly hope the facility takes these concerns seriously and improves the quality of care for all residents.

It broke my heart to see how disconnected some of the staff at Shields Comfort Care in Saginaw seemed. They're always losing my grandmas clothes and they let her have too much sugar and sweets. The residents deserve to be treated like someone’s grandparents—with patience, warmth, and respect—but that wasn’t the impression I got from several of the employees. It felt like just a job to many of them, not genuine care.

Very positive experience with Shields Comfort Care! The facility is very nice, the rooms are beautiful and spacious, and the food is great! Overall a great experience! Curtrice worked very hard to expedite things for us! The facility is great, and Curtrice is apart of why! A very kind, welcoming, and positive person who works hard to assist with needs! I HIGHLY recommend this place for your loved one!

Shields Comfort Care is a very nice place! Such a good and fun environment for all Residents and they truly seem to enjoy their stay there! I would definitely recommend this as a place if you are looking for a loved one! Good food, fun activities and nice staff!
