My sister has been a guest at Merrill Gardens for just over a year. She loves the facility, her apartment, the many activities on and off campus, not to mention the cafe style food service. She loves all the staff she deals with on a daily basis. They have all been extremely good to her. She tells me she feels safe and cared for there. From my perspective, Everyone I interact with is kind, respectful and attentive to my sister’s needs and any requests/needs I may have. I have the utmost trust in the staff and they don’t hesitate to communicate with me as needed. Merrill Gardens is amazing!

The Team and Staff at Merrill Gardens Huntington Beach is awesome and welcoming. Best location and the weather is perfect year round. Great choice and beautiful apartment homes.

I wish i could give this place less than a 1 star, Super disappointed, my mother is from Florida living on her own until 3 weeks ago. She had a couple of falls as her balance at 83 has been a bit off due to a sciatic issue. She also has very small memory issue but for her age is as sharp as they come. We had nurse, Farrah interview us with all of our paper work. Since my mother came from Florida and is now here with us her lifestyle has changed dramatically, so to say the least her habits and way of living has changed dramatically. I'm extremely homeopathic so since my mother has come to CA she has been on very little pain medicine. We've been handling her pain with D3 B12, CQ, lions main, curcumin and ibprophen which is the strongest of all methods of pain management. She has been doing great other than her pain from he sciatica which we've been waiting for over a month for an epidural to get approved from insurance. We met with Jen who was amazing and felt very secure that our mother after putting a deposit down would be a great fit. It all changed when we met with the nurse Farrah who had the worse bed side manner i've evern seen. She was a bit perplexed by my mother's diagnosis. She came here one month ago and was on a protocol from Florida which is very different from what her current protocol here in California. I'm all about integrative health with a natural path way of thinking. I feel as soon as we gave this bit of information to nurse Farrah she was very skeptical and questioned our current path. We then took a memory test at which my mother was depleted of points. For example, they read a paragraph about a story which my mother of almost 84 had to answer a question. In the paragraph it stated the women returned to work after her children were teenagers and my mother's response was she returned to work when the children were older. She marked her off for that which gave her a score less than what they wanted on the memory test. If she would've given her full credit she wouldve easily passed the test but they failed her. I'm not sure but both my brother and I could tell they had no intentions of passing her into this facility. Please be very skeptical of this facility both Jill the GM and nurse Farrah were extremely shady and not forthcoming on there reasons of why my mother wasn't welcomed at this facilty. Everything happens for a reason and was accepted at Vivante in Newport Mesa. Please know that these people decide your loved ones destiny based on what they feel not what they advertise on what they tell you when you walk in. This facility was very close where my brother resides so we selected the location on proximity for ease of spending as much time with our beloved mother made the most sense. Don't make the mistake of selecting this facility they are extremely dishonest.

Merrill Gardens is a happy place and I call it my Home Sweet Home. The ambiance that greets you is that of a modern hotel lounge. The back courtyard is small but relaxing & colorful with seasonal flowers. There are plenty of activities that include vocalist performances, scenic drives, happy hours, Mother's Day Tea, celebrations for all traditional holidays, even the Kentucky Derby day! Now, I rarely use my kitchen because the dining hall is open from 7 AM to 7 PM. Food is good and there are always several choices on the menu. The top management and the staff are easily accessible and I have found them to be responsive to our needs. Twice, I encountered brief medical emergencies, and woke up surrounded by care staff and paramedics. I feel safe living here. I have made new friends in this community and while I miss my previous condo with its high-rise panoramic ocean view, I am happy with the quietly vibrant life style of seniors. I am happy here and believe that you will be too.
