SIERRA OAKS OF REDDING

This assisted living facility is chronically understaffed, resulting in poor, delayed, and inconsistent care. Residents' basic needs are often unmet, and staff appear overwhelmed and unsupported. The facility only makes an effort when family members or state inspectors are present. Outside of those times, cleanliness, staffing, and responsiveness noticeably decline, creating a false impression of quality care. The building frequently smells strongly of urine, and sanitation is a serious concern. Residents are regularly observed wearing inappropriate clothing for the weather and sitting or walking around in visibly soaked briefs, raising major dignity and health concerns. Common-area furniture is dirty and stained, further reflecting neglect. Residents appear lonely, disengaged, and emotionally neglected, with minimal activities or stimulation. Food quality is consistently poor and unappetizing. Staff are treated poorly by management, leading to low morale and constant turnover. Management is rude, dismissive, and unempathetic when concerns are raised. Families deserve honesty and basic standards of care. This facility fails to provide a safe, clean, and dignified living environment. Look elsewhere.

There are lots of good things to say about this facility. The staff are genuinely happy and thoughtful. The food is excellent. I stopped by for Thanksgiving today.

Great morning/day staff. Took real good care of my husband. Just make sure to give your 30 day notice on time or you will be charged. Read your contract. I ended up paying for 21 days in which my husband was not there. Was not told about this part of the contract when I signed. I was distraught and depressed at the time and feel that I should have been told this information at the time.

My husband has been in Sierra Oaks Memory Care since early November. Every time I go to see him the building and grounds are clean, and he is clean and well-cared for. I've dropped in during meals and everything looks healthy and wholesome. He has gotten agitated a few times during our visits, and the staff is well-skilled at calming him down. These people are very professional and patient. I admire the skills they possess for handling difficult situations. I can recommend Sierra Oaks without hesitation for anyone who needs memory care for a family member.

This is a wonderful place. I feel happy that my Mom is being taken care of here. She loves the staff and the residents, she also likes the food. It's alway clean & maintained well. I would recommend this facility for family and friends.
