My mother has been a resident for two years. She has seen year over year increases that are in line with the high inflation and cost of living. We paid those increases and moved on. One month after an increase and without any explanation, change in acuity, or care needs, her monthly rent jumped by a much more exorbitant amount with very little notice. We literally had 5 hours from getting the letter and making a decision or be locked into 60 more days. When I reached out to the Community Director (who sold us and was so helpful initially) to see if there were any options given they own 50+ homes, she didn’t even respond to me. After paying this facility over $90K, this is how we are treated? I’m shocked by this bait and switch and complete lack of compassion for people. We will be moving my mother given their business practices, but not without a lot of stress, anxiety and trouble. Clearly, the residents at SilverLeaf are just dollar signs, and I don’t know how the owner/investor sleeps at night. I also want to note that while the day to day care from the ladies was great, our house manager changed several times without any notice to the family. There were times I tried to reach out to someone and got no response. They are quick to send a letter increasing rates but can’t notify families of important updates to the staff? That tells me something about motivations.

Excellent senior care with tasty food and variety of activities for residencies.

I would not do business with this company. They definitely do not have the best interest of the residents in mind. We placed my mother on Jan 20th after many discussions regarding her Alzheimer's disease. I explained many times that she needed to be kept busy. I even sent them the evaluation from the Neuropsychologist stating she was unable to remember but very intelligent. They did not want to do an assessment before we moved her in. On the 5th day, after she had gotten out the front door 3 times, they told me they were unable to keep someone in her condition. I moved her as soon as I could because I did not want her to stay somewhere that could not keep her safe. She was in the house only 7 days. We were charged for a full month plus the prorated amount through the end of January (although we were required to move on 1/26) and for additional services that their own staff said she didn't need once they finally did an assessment. They are unwilling to show me any security video of the incidents.
