Serious Safety and Supervision Concerns I strongly do not recommend this assisted living facility. We raised serious safety and care concerns that were not adequately addressed. The front gate has been broken for months, wheelchair access is difficult, and exterior areas had wasp nests, debris, and slip hazards. Cameras are not monitored, some do not function, and management does not oversee evening or overnight shifts. Although we were told residents are checked every two hours and not placed in bed early, our family-installed camera showed our father put in bed mid-afternoon on 01/11/2026 and left there for hours. On 12/27/2025, we were told he had been fed and put to bed early, yet he was awake and attempting to sit up when we arrived. The evening routine appeared focused on keeping residents seated, medicated, and put to bed early rather than encouraging mobility as outlined in intake materials. There was a clear lack of accountability and consistency in oversight. Communication within the chain of command and between shifts was poor, as important information was not consistently identified or relayed. Most concerning, on 01/12/2026 we requested a room change after repeated physical aggression from his roommate and provided video evidence to management. After installing a camera, we documented that our father was awake and mumbling throughout the night, yet staff were unaware. This raised serious concerns about overnight supervision and caregiver communication. The owner was frequently on-site but never engaged with residents or families. Due to ongoing concerns for our father’s safety and well-being, we ultimately made the decision to move him. Families deserve safe, accountable, and attentive care. That was not our experience.

Howdy. The Mercy House at 550 Rock St in New Braunfels Tx is the best place for memory care. My kids and I searched everywhere in the area (San Antonio, Seguin and New Braunfels). This was the best in terms of caring, food and entertainment. They have functions every day. I highly recommend Mercy House.

We had to move mom from California from a memory care facility and the transition for mom has been amazing. The facility and caregivers are very compassionate and the hospice service they have provided have given us reassurance that we made the right decision to choose Mercy House here in New Braunfels. Jenna has been so supportive during this whole process and has made it so seamless in getting her here close to my husband and I. I would highly recommend Mercy House to any loved one who needs to find a compassionate place for their family member. Five stars!

Jenna and her staff are absolutely phenomenal! Short of doing God’s work, it is clear that they genuinely love what they do and truly love & care for their residents! Although I do not work at Mercy House, nor have any friends/family that reside there, today I took my two horses in for a visit. While there, I got to observe how engaged their residents were. Jenna and her staff/nurses were totally in tune with each person who chose to participate. They were able to bring residents out of their shells and encouraged them to participate by pinpointing strengths and likes/dislikes. No one was forced to participate, but by the end of the visit, the majority of residents were thoroughly engaged and it just melted my heart. It was so touching to see them light up…and I just felt like they were all one big family. If you’re ever in the position to seek a place out such as Mercy House, put them at the top of your list. I’m certain you won’t go looking elsewhere. These guys and gals are top notch and we’re looking forward to visiting again! I feel so blessed to have found Mercy House for my father. He has adapted well and the staff are wonderful. It is a great fit for my father who has dementia. My dad is getting great care with kindness and attention. My dad is thriving at the Mercy House, he is content and comfortable. The Mercy house is his home. I highly recommend Mercy House to everyone who needs care for their loved ones.
