Can't say enough positive about Spring Arbor of Fredericksburg. My Dad chose Spring Arbor to be his new home 3 months ago. He moved from his home in S.C. into a lovely apartment that fits his every need. The staff- all of them, from Administration to nurse and med-techs to housekeeping, dining room and laundry staff have all helped ease the transition of moving late in life. My Dad recently said, "I am happy and content." Those words say it all.

My mother lived at Spring Arbor from 10/15/24 to 1/18/25, when my family moved her out due to fear for her safety. She was dropped by an aide twice in the first four days of her stay. The second fall resulted in two fractures in her back. She never recovered and died in March 2025. Spring Arbor accepted no responsibility for injuring her and did not cover her medical bills. Many of the care givers are rude and unprofessional, Beware of the marketing personnel that glorify the quality of care they promise but do not deliver. Profit is their first priority, not resident care. Responding to Spring Arbor's Response: I had conversations with the executive director of Spring Arbor about my mother's care. After the Spring Arbor employee dropped my 86-year-old mother and fractured her back in two places, I asked the executive director to transfer my mother temporarily to a local rehabilitation facility to receive more extensive personal care and physical therapy than what is offered at Spring Arbor. She claimed that she spoke with her superiors, the Spring Arbor regional director and the director of quality assurance and education, and that they refused my request. They did not want to pay for her rehabilitation, even though they were responsible for her injuries. Instead, they wanted to increase the monthly fee we were paying them. We finally moved her out when she began vomiting blood, and we were afraid for her safety. She was not receiving adequate care at Spring Arbor. She died six weeks later. Her life meant nothing to them.

Our family is forever grateful to the management and staff at Spring Arbor for the compassionate care provided to both of my in-laws, even during some challenging health issues. This team went the extra mile, multiple times, to make sure we had options to provide the best care possible for our loved ones. I would not hesitate to recommend Spring Arbor and this staff to anyone who asked.
