Avoid This Facility - Neglect and Poor Care for Vulnerable Residents This is a terrible place to send any loved one, especially someone requiring memory care or assistance with daily needs. I regret ever placing my uncle here. They charged an exorbitant upfront fee of $10,000 to accept him, plus $5,500 per month for rent and an additional $300 for memory care services. On top of that, I just received an $800 bill for his medications-even though I had already provided all the necessary meds when he moved in. I had to remove him after only two months due to serious lapses in basic care: They repeatedly failed to follow his strict diabetic diet. One nurse was about to give him a cupcake until another staff member intervened. He went days without proper showering or bathing assistance. No one seemed aware that his toilet was malfunctioning, leading him to start soiling himself. His room was consistently unclean and neglected. Medications were administered at the wrong times despite having his full medical details on file. Staff were unaware of his incontinence issues, resulting in inadequate support and hygiene. I raised these concerns multiple times with staff and management, but received only half-hearted apologies and no meaningful fixes. They fired one staff member and tried placing the blame on her. While I’m sure her exit was needed, this entire facility needs to be under investigation. The neglect was unacceptable for the high cost and promises of personalized, attentive care. I've requested a refund via email for his stay and improper charges, but so far no resolution. I plan to report this facility to the Better Business Bureau, North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services; and any other relevant oversight agencies, as these issues appear to violate standards of care. This is elders abuse!

I moved my 98-year-old mother into Spring Arbor a month ago, and the entire experience has exceeded my expectations. The Sales & Marketing Director made the move in process smooth, organized, and exactly as promised, even scheduling a follow-up meeting two weeks later to ensure things were going well. The Executive Director sets a high standard for the whole community. She is professional, approachable, and truly hands on, often working alongside her staff to ensure residents receive excellent care. Her leadership is felt throughout the building. The Director of Nursing shows the same dedication and warmth. It is clear she cares deeply for the residents, and my mother’s daily care has been outstanding. The Food Service Director has gone above and beyond to honor my mom’s specific dietary needs, which has given me real peace of mind. The receptionists are consistently welcoming, professional, and helpful, whether in person or on the phone. The Maintenance Director is responsive, supportive, and always willing to assist, which made the transition easier for both of us. I was initially concerned about therapy services due to my mother’s age, but her Legacy Therapist has been patient, attentive, and compassionate from day one. Administrators also stop by her room regularly to check on her comfort and wellbeing something rare and truly appreciated. Spring Arbor has delivered on every promise. My mother is thriving, the building is beautifully maintained, and the housekeeping staff does an excellent job. I have complete peace of mind knowing she is safe, respected, and truly cared for. I highly recommend this community.

For years, I stressed about finding a suitable assisted living care facility that would treat my mother with the care and respect she needs and deserves after 86 years. Sylena in admissions was professional but also caring and transparent. She made me feel that I was making the right decision for my aging mother. The staff at Spring Arbor of Steele Creek are friendly, caring and respectful. They even spend time with her and paint her fingernails! My mother enjoys living there and has been establishing friendships with everyone. I'm so happy for everyone at Spring Arbor and I feel confident knowing that my mother is well taken care of. Ignore any review prior to [date removed] as the place is under new ownership and management. I wouldn't put my mother anywhere else as I have total confidence in Spring Arbor!

It's a shame to have to give this hellhole even one star. In three years 5 or 6 "Executive Directors" (I eventually couldn't keep track), each one stating that I should be patient with the terrible care and they were going to turn things around. Dirty rooms, terrible food and a staff that cares WAY more about their phones than their patients. They gave my mom someone else's strong anti-anxiety medication causing her to become semi-comatose. She never mentally recovered from that and would never take a green pill again. It took me a year to get reimbursed for the ambulance and hospital expenses they caused. MANY things stolen from my mother's room, including checks that were fraudulently cashed. This indicates theft by a staff person because the residents can't just go off to banks and cash stolen checks. Multiple easily preventable injuries from falls due to a negligent staff. My mom was buried with a black eye and bruises on her face from THREE injuries in the last week of her life including two falls from her wheelchair and one where the staff person dropped her on the floor while changing her bedding. And on the day my mom passed when they found her they called hospice, but didn't bother to notify me. Several hours later hospice called me to ask about arrangements and I had to ask, "Wait a second, are you telling me my mom's dead?" Yes, it is the cheapest place around but you will still get less than you pay for. I can only hope everyone associated with Wickshire ends up in a place EXACTLY like it.

I was in search for a facility for my mom and came across Wickshire Steele Creek. I began speaking with Rebekah and she was very informative about the facility and very nice and personable. She and Joy came to do an assessment on my mom (on a days notice) at her current facility and they were amazing. Rebekah went on a walk with my mom, which really made my heart sing. They were amazing ladies and sat and gave me information and talked with my mom for a while. It was great. If you are looking for a place for your family member or loved one, please call Wickshire Steele Creek. They are amazing there! Thank you Wickshire Steel Creek; we are looking forward to move-in day.
