Be sure to give 2 weeks notice before you die. They will charge $229/day even after you empty apt in assisted living thru the paid-up date. Corporate greed & mean policy at work.

I tried to get in contact with a loved one and close friend, because I was calling in and not my loved one calling me directly, they would not let me speak with her or tell me if she was currently residing there. The staff was very rude and not helpful at all to a person calling in, which if that is how they treat a new inquiry and stranger I can't imagine how they treat residents. Due to that interaction I can be assured to never recommend them or move one of my loved ones in.

The springs at clackamas wood is a nice environment if your loved one is independent. The food in the main building and pub is acceptable and there are many activities. Unfortunately, if your loved one is not mobile there is not enough staff to meet their needs. I take my mother outside when I visit, but rarely is anyone available at this facility to do this. She is in one of the cottages and is unable to wheel to her own dining area on her own. She is served last in her room and food is cold or odd. Some of the staff are very compassionate, others need training. My mother has been there 18 months. 2 weeks after she moved in the toilet backed up. Her socks were filthy from the dirty carpet. They did replace the toilet twice and the carpet (which meant boxing up her belongings again and taking her out for the day). Now there is construction going on outside her window March thru November and it is difficult for her to rest. Staff is always changing, including administration so we never know who to talk to. And now after a good rainstorm, her carpet is wet again, personal belongings are wet. This place has so much potential, but we are going to have to move her. Difficult for a 90 yr old. The outside wall has exposed wet insulation, sawed off roofing above moms apt where the water drained down into her place, sopping her carpet. We were told they couldnt extract the carpet water because furniture was there.(They cant call us or move it themselves?) We moved it, 1 construction worker came out (it was sunday). We boxed up some stuff, wrapped her mattresses in plastic, and brought her home. We are in limbo. Waiting for fans to dry out room. I forgot to mention the "emergency" button is also pressed for coffee or whatever. Mom fell and waited on the floor some time before help arrived. They were great when they did arrive. I gave it a 3 because the staff is nice but no one seems to have any authority . As an update to my review, I have to say a big thankyou to Joleen for getting my mother through a difficult time. When everyone was made aware of our situation, efforts were coordinated, exterior wall, extracted water, new carpet, furniture movers...we took mom home for a while and she was welcomed back warmly by staff. She was glad to be home. Thank you Joleen.

I have lived at the Springs for 8 months. After the sudden death of my husband, I knew that I needed to be around people so began looking at various independent living facilities. As soon as I walked into the inviting atmosphere of the Springs, there was a feeling like a warm hug - I definitely wanted to be here! The compassion and support of the staff and residents helped me make a smooth transition. It now feels like a family! It's a great location, the grounds are beautiful and they offer many activities, services, programs, and fun excursions. The food, cooks, and servers are wonderful as well as the drivers and maintenance crew-- and they always have a friendly smile. I have heard other residents say "living at the Springs is like being on a land cruise!"

The Springs at Clackamas Woods is, hands-down, the best senior living establishment around. After multiple visits to different senior living facilities, my mother selected The Springs as her new home. She always said, the staff and residents are so nice and caring and it feels like a hotel. She was 100% correct, though I might add a few more descriptive words: Compassion, Love, Empathy and Sincerity. The staff go over and above to accommodate the every need of the residents and make them feel loved. I cannot recommend this establishment enough if you are looking for a safe and loving home for your loved one. The Springs and all their residents are "family". The Springs feels like you are an all inclusive resort. My only regret is that I wish I could move in, but not being a senior that's not an option.
