My mother came here from living independently from the University Place and loved it there, but has now moved here and loves it as well! She's so happy she made her next move. One thing that would be wonderful tho, is to add a library day 1-2x a month where the transport can bring their residents to the public library to check out books. My mother is a voracious reader and misses having access to a library. Thanks Springs for all you do and your focus on the residents and their care, happiness, well-being while always giving them all respect! SO SO necessary for our older community to be seen and heard with respect.

Just because the place is clean and bougie does not mean it's a good place. My grandma was here for weeks and it made her so much worse. She was heading in to dementia and we had no idea until AFTER her stay here. I believe this place catapulted her in to full blown dementia. There was an incident where a resident said some vial, disgusting things to my grandma and threatened her with her feces. Instead of protecting my grandma from this patient, they laughed and blamed my grandma for attempting to leave the facility. She set off the alarms and all the staff was surrounding her, traumatizing her even more. They refused to show us the camera footage when my grandma was visibly upset and in tears. We asked multiple people and to this day, we still haven't seen the camera footage of the incident. After the incident, my grandma stayed in her room for weeks and never left it. The patient that threatened her was in the cafeteria for the next meal, while my grandma was scared in her room. My grandma started hallucinating believing she was in a prison. The staff thought it was absolutely hilarious and laughed as they updated us on her behavior. The nurses became so mean to her. She had a UTI and they refused to do any kind of testing to see if she actually had one and after we asked. They gave her cranberry juice. We asked to have her sent to the hospital to be told, well we have a doctor and an NP that makes rounds a couple times a week that she can see. They threatened her ability to stay at the nursing home if we had an ambulance come get her. Eventually, days later, they tested her and she had a UTI that took very strong antibiotics to get rid of. Then this one nurse.. handing out drugs... the very, very mean one.. decided it was a great idea to take my grandma's family in to the hall and go in to grave detail of how my grandmother will die because she has COPD. She described every sound, every detail, every experience. When I said you can stop now, she made the decision to advise me that "we need to be completely prepared for her end of life, whether we like it or not". This nurse should NOT be working with elderly patients and their families... she probably shouldn't be a nurse period. The head person here should have a discussion with all of their staff that if they hate their job working with elderly, then they need to quit. Also, if you are looking for long term and paying out of pocket, be sure to check their additional charges! Ask about them!! Do not just assume everything is covered like providing incontinence care or assistance to take a shower. Do not let their family brunches and expensive building fool you... Do your research!

My mom is a resident at The Springs. The Springs provide a family atmosphere while providing care and support for my mother. The extra programs they provide has helped my mom strive. The staff have been nothing but helping and caring. My dad was a patient there for a while and also received excellent care. I would highly recommend The Springs to anyone looking for excellent care for there family members.

First, the overall impression of the facility is that it is well maintained and has a welcoming atmosphere. By this I mean that it has a homey feel, not a formal, cold feel. This feel continues when you meet the staff. There is a “how can I help you “ attitude throughout. The proof of this is in the details: the food is above average and if you don’t like what is offered on the menu, at any given time, they have additional options. The apartments are comfortable, well furnished and here again, if you don’t like something, they will do whatever is possible to meet your requirements. All of this having been said, it is when you are face to face with the staff members working on the details that show their true colors. They are on your side. They want to arrange for you what you want if at all possible.

Mom has really started enjoying life again. The staff is awesome and extremely caring. The Springs “Top Chef” food is homemade daily and delicious. All of the residents, staff and myself rave about the flavor especially the awesome soups. The campus is very clean, fresh, beautifully decorated and feels like a spa!
