My 72 year old brother LOVES LOVES LOVES it here! He loves everything about Saint Andrews Place and so do I (his younger sister) I am fairly involved with him as I take him to doctor appointments and such which gives me a change to pop in unexpected to see all the "goings on" in his life. The staff is absolutely remarkable, attentive, aware, loving, supportive, thoughtful, kind, and completely authentic! They truly love my brother and make him feel like he is part of a larger family, and he loves them as if they are his own family too. Recently staff noticed my brother was having a medical issue so they called for an ambulance. At first he was taken to OMC then transferred to UW in Seattle for care as it turned out to be a significant medical development even though at first it did look very serious. (They pay very close attention to their residence care) When I called to update the front office at Saint Andrews with my brother condition from the UW one of the Med Techs came on the phone asking how my brother was doing? She was very concerned about my brother so I put her on speaker for my brother to have a chat with her. She is an especially sunshiny personality her voice was uplifting him, her heart is so full of love....tears ran down my sweet brothers face leaving him nearly speechless, and me too for that matter! She told him she couldn't wait for him "to hurry up and come home" and that she misses him. The facility feels like home, its cozy and comfortable it neat and clean. The other 39 residence are all so nice too and my brother has made many friends. Christmas decorations are just stunning, and the food is awesome. My brother even knows the cook and says she is the "Best Chef". The administrator of Saint Andrews is obviously very good at selecting superior quality staff to work there and a high caliber of residence to share this close knit community. This is a safe, special place to live, it offers an environment for their residence to thrive in, to have an active lifestyle, everything from Bingo to outings my brother loves it all! I hope if I ever need a home as my brother has needed, I would be lucky enough to find a home/community like Saint Andrews Place. However, I expect this in such a unique one-of-a-kind sort of place I'll have a hard time finding one as special.

If you're expecting an urgent call from the nurse (who gossips with Highland Commons Manager) it will take over a week.
