I cannot tell you enough how happy my aunt was during her stay at St. Joseph Residence in Lauderdale Lake, Florida. She was there from February of 2023 through February of 2025. As a family, we all moved out of State, which is why she left the facility. She felt at home in her private 1-bedroom apartment with a small kitchen and balcony which she loved to relax on. Although, she did not cook in the kitchen, she was able to make her coffee and have a microwave and toaster. She was very happy to have a small chapel conveniently located on the main floor where she attended masses and rosary whenever she could. She found the staff very helpful and pleasant (as did I) and she connected with many of the other residents that lived there. Although the building is older and may not have a lot of frills, the facility was maintained and was always kept clean inside and outside and never had any odors, like many do. It is a good price compared to many out there and we always felt she was watched after and safe. The Marketing coordinator/social services coordinator, Elaine and Human Resource, Michaelle, have been very helpful overtime. The nursing staff, Aides and front desk and maintenance are all very nice and always there to lend you a hand.

My mother before she passed was moved in there by our family. We had gone there the following morning to find mom’s belongings never unpacked & she was head to toe in urine. We could not get anyone to assist. Needless to say, we packed her up & got her out of there that day. I gave 1 star because the place was appealing to the eye but the care which is most important STINKS.

Clean facility, food decent. staff hot, and cold. Director at the time was intimidated, a control freak, very petty, and vindictive. Wanted to take my voice, and rights away. Not!!! All about control. Refused to refund my first, last, and deposit.Court here we come. It's been too long.

The facility is very clean. Staff is attentive and personable. Food is excellent as the kitchen is shared with St. Anthony's Rehab hospital next door. Staff will offer the resident choices in food if they have certain preferences. Mass is offered regularly and rosary is prayed daily. Laundry assistance weekly where residents clothes are washed separately is a nice plus. It is a good value for the money.
