Our family moved our 92 year old mother into Summerfield this week. From our first visit to the facility, we were so impressed with the appearance, the tasteful decor, the size of the room, and especially the cleanliness, which are all outstanding. Jamie has been with us every step of the way, and continues to be supportive and communicative these first few days as we all adjust. On the actual move in day, we were all surrounded by support and welcoming hearts. Although we are just now starting to meet and work with staff, the kindness of Sheree, Vance, Krystle, and Alondra all come to mind. We look forward to getting our mother to avail herself of the variety of engaging activities offered on a daily basis, as well as the special events. For example, there is an upcoming Chinese New Year celebration scheduled, and that sounds fun! We recognize that the transition will take time for all of us, but we trust the capable and kind hands of the staff at Summerfield.

Fantastic staff. They are truly helpful and very supportive to the residents and their families. Krystle, one of the caregivers, is absolutely amazing and sends you updates on trips and the care of your loved one. All the staff is caring, patient, kind, and willing to go the extra mile to help comfort and support all the family members. Highly recommend. Great price for the high level of care.

I recently toured here and found the community charming and cozy. I was looking for a parent when the time is right and will absolutely choose Summerfield. Jamie was so helpful!

I'm writing this review to strongly warn families considering summerfield of Fresno for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Our experience here was disturbing and unacceptable on multiple levels, and families deserve to know the truth. The facility is plagued by poor management and unsafe practices. Most shockingly, the activities director who is not medication certified was allowed to administer medications and gave the wrong medication to the wrong resident. This is a serious safety violation that could have resulted in life-threatening consequences. Management was made aware and took no meaningful action. That alone should be disqualifying for any care facility. Equally troubling, the facility’s director was actually living on site in a resident’s room, which is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. This raises serious questions about boundaries, ethics, and the overall quality of leadership. The facility is chronically understaffed, leading to residents being neglected, improperly supervised, or left in distress with no assistance. Most staff appear overwhelmed, undertrained, or simply indifferent. Cleanliness is another major concern. The rooms and shared areas often reek of urine, and basic sanitation is clearly not a priority. It’s an unacceptable environment for anyone, especially vulnerable adults with dementia. Residents are also not allowed outside at all. They are kept indoors all day, every day, with no access to fresh air or sunlight. This is inhumane. It contributes to further disorientation and confusion, as residents completely lose track of time, day, and season. In addition to these issues, some staff are openly rude and dismissive, both toward residents and visiting families. There is a clear lack of compassion and professionalism. In summary, this facility is dangerous, unethical, and not suitable for anyone—let alone individuals with cognitive impairments who need specialized, attentive care. Please, do your research and look elsewhere. Our loved ones deserve dignity, safety, and respect not confinement, mismanagement, and neglect.

My wife is now a resident of summerfield. I cannot say enough positive things about the staff and facility. She is treated like family and is thriving with the stimulation, good food, positive interaction, and beautiful surroundings. This has been a very tough transition for both my wife and i, but Summerfield has helped to Comfort the most difficult moments. Not only do they treat my wife as if she's family, but they treat me like I'm family too. This is definitely a place of comfort for a difficult time of life for anyone.
