SUMMER'S LANDING

Edit*** Went back today and Cindy was finally in her office, Donna's name is no longer on her door. Honestly, we overheard her talking down to 2 different employees before we even had a chance to talk to her and that was all we needed to hear. We got up and left. We walked through the dining room on our way out and saw every nurse sitting down and on their phones while a call light was going off. The dining room was filthy!! The trash cans were overflowing with flies flying around them and in the coffee area there were tiny bugs all over the counter. There was also a very bad odor throughout the facility. How do we talk to someone in charge at this facility? Between my wife and I, we've been up there a total of 4 times and Donna(HR) and Cindy(Director) are never there. All calls are routed to answering machine and messages are never returned.

I call my relative staying here each weekend and was sad to hear that they didn't do anything for them on their birthday. Some of their laundry has also come up missing. Some of those outfits were brand new!! I do know in the last several months leadership has changed here and most of the staff are brand new because as I was told, 'everyone that used to work there left'. Some things mentioned was there is no one working in the activities room, so there's nothing for them to do. The only thing offered is playing bingo. This has me worried because they mentioned they were feeling depressed because besides eating meals, everyone just sits in their rooms. No exercise or outings to a store are ever planned so they can't get personal items they need. They mentioned the last trip to Walmart was in October. I have tried to call several times and talk to someone but only get voicemail and then my calls are never returned. We plan on visiting soon and possibly look for another facility.

My aging Mother is in need of extra care, so my brother and I sought out care for Mom that was delivered with standards above excellence as Mom deserves. We visited over 5 facilities and summer’s Landing rose to the top by a long shot. We’re extremely happy with the care, food and love Mom receives every day!

I have known several current and past residents of Summer's Landing. The facility is run by Jasmine and she does a wonderful job making it feel like an extended family. If you are looking for a place for a love ones I highly recommend Summer's Landing.

My mom is so happy at Summers Landing. We spent several weeks visiting assisted living facilities in Bay County and we chose Summers Landing. It was by far the best value for our family.
