When faced with one of the hardest decisions ever, that being where to place my father while he was in hospice care and required 24-hr. supervision, yet not quite at the end of his life, I discovered Sunflower House Senior Living. My father's room was private, clean, and nicely furnished. Most hours of the day, it was flooded with cheerful natural sunlight. In fact, he often thought he was at home rather than in a hospital or skilled nursing facility! The food is cooked fresh in the kitchen, and the owner, Marguerite, often made sure to have some of Dad's favorites on hand. Marguerite is kindhearted and caring, pays close attention to detail, and is highly accessible. She kept the lines of communicationn open as to my father's condition and care so I always felt well-informed. She would be the first to call Vitas if anything was wrong. The aides, especially Patrice and Elizabeth, were patient, attentive, and hardworking. The other residents were friendly and pleasant whenever I visited. Sunflower House was a home-like setting that allowed my father to have dignity and excellent care at the end of his life. I will always be grateful to Marguerite and her staff at Sunflower House Senior Living.
