TENDER HAVEN CARE HOME

Loving heart care home provided my mother with a safe place to live. She lived there for eight months, recovering from hip surgery, and suffering from dementia. The caretakers were very loving, fun, and accommodating to our visiting schedule, especially when she was in hospice. The communication was wonderful, and Elvie, the owner would text me personally about any concerns with my mom. I would highly recommend Loving Heart Care Home!

Staff have made rude remarks regarding my grandparents cognitive difficulties thinking they don't understand or can't hear them. Several belongings have gone missing from my grandparent's room. We're told it was our fault for not filling out a log and getting it signed by staff but that doesn't change the fact the clothing is still missing. After staff asked us to bring comfort foods from home for my grandparent, the staff left the food (that required refrigeration) in their clothing closet for several weeks. The food was found well after expiration and could have made someone very sick if it were consumed. My Grandparent has been sent outside with a damp washrag on visiting days telling us to bathe them ourselves. (We are not trained care givers! That's why we pay for care) I'm very suspicious about why my Grandparent keeps asking for cash. There's no log of their spending so we have no idea where the money is going because it's not in their wallet or in their belongings. When we've asked for explanations for these observations, the staff was confrontational. I had at least expected reassurance but no. These issues have been going on for several months so it's not like this all happened at once. I will say, I don't believe there is "physically" abuse or neglect, but that's a pretty low standard of expectation. I strongly feel there are operational issues that need to be addressed. -- I would not recommend.

I am so thankful for Loving Heart Care Home. The owner and staff are kind and patient with both our family and our dad. His care needs exceed our abilities and skill, and though we are saddened by this, we are so very grateful that Loving Heart Care Home has provided far and above our expectations. The care Dad is given is restoring his health, slowly but surely, always consistently. I cannot say enough about the immense gratitude I feel toward Rick, Mel, Ronnel, Cathy, and Crystal. The home is situated conveniently near Kaiser. The back yard is pleasantly accommodating to family visits at bedroom windows (during Covid19). I am a retired case manager. This place is one of the best B&Cs I've seen. Our Mom found the best.

This place is amazing. The level of care that my father has received from day one has been outstanding. My father has not been an easy patient to have but every member of their staff deal with him with a smile on their face. They also treat my mother who visits regularly with the same respect and care each and every time. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who is looking.

The one thing I like the most about loving heart care home is the relationship between the caregivers and the residents. You can really see how they care about them. They treat them like they’re own family. The place is well maintained, clean , bright and very welcoming. Residents are comfortable and happy... just like they’re in their own home. I will definitely recommend this place.
