After an extensive search for a nearby assisted living community for our elderly parent, we found TerraBella Southport met our criteria and in many areas exceeded our expectations. This community provides a safe, clean, friendly and engaging environment, with medical assistance available 24/7. The staff provides daily meals and medicine administration as well as weekly laundry and housekeeping services. It’s never easy to move your parent to a new community later in life, but the TerraBella Southport staff made it as smooth a transition as possible.

My dad has been living here for over a year and we have been so pleased. We like that he has his own room and bathroom which we are able to furnish and decorate to make him feel like home. The building itself is very nice with several rooms where residents can spend time as well as beautiful outdoor spaces too. My dad loves sitting outside and enjoying the scenery during the warmer months. Everything is always very clean and there are never any “hospital smells” here, which is much appreciated. The food is very good here… they serve a wide variety of meals, including “fancy” things like shrimp and other seafood. My dad can be a little picky but he’s overall really liking the food. There are also lots of fun activities for the residents such as meals out… lots of live music… regular holiday parties… weekly happy hour… bingo… trivia… etc etc. Dana is very creative about the events that are offered. And the staff… oh my goodness, they are the nicest people!! So many of the people who work here feel like a friend of our family now. They truly care about my dad and his health and comfort. I can’t say enough about the staff here… I hope the TerraBella corporate office does everything they can to make the folks here feel appreciated bc they make this place a home! They are wonderful!!

The staff at Terra Bella are very kind. They treat the residents like family and the families like family. My mother lived there until her recent death. So many staff came by and expressed appreciation for her presence there. Now my 92 yr. old father is there. He LOVES the food and his room. He seems invigorated with meeting the residents and staff. I haven't seen him this relaxed and happy for sometime. My family has peace of mind that he is safe and cared for. My experience with the people who work there is that for many of them, this is not just a job..its a calling to care and support people during this part of their lives.

I made an appointment for a tour there for noon today. I received a text last night to confirm that I would be there. I assured the sales person that yes, I would be there. Upon arrival, there was no one to meet or greet me. There is only one chair in the "waiting" area. My husband and I took turns sitting down. An employee wandered in after about 10 minutes and we asked if we were in the right place? She said yes, but our executive director is on a phone call. I'll let her know that you're here. There was an adjacent room that had a table and several chairs. We were not invited to wait in there, or anywhere else where could have sat down. So after waiting for 20 minutes, we left. I feel that if they are that unwelcoming and unprofessional for a first impression, I would not want to trust them with my loved one. MY TIME is valuable and I do not appreciate it being wasted! I had to pay someone to be with my loved one, and drove from Wilmington today. All for my time to be wasted. Very disappointed.

I can not say enough good things about Terra Bella Southport! My Mom was a resident in memory care for several years there and received the most amazing care, from CNAs to RNs, and administration…everyone demonstrated sincere compassion for her and delivered the best care, affording my brothers and me complete peace of mind knowing our Mom was in good hands and well cared for. It is also comforting to know that many of the staff who tended to my Mom, are still working there today, which speaks volumes to the corporate culture that Terra Bella embodies. Keep up the awesome work!
