I spent two months at Texas NeuroRehab Center after a partial amputation of one foot and a toe on the other foot. That period of time has been the most restorative and healing period of my entire life. There are too many wonderful people to list out individually that took the absolute best care of me but I'll give it a shot. I'll start with Cassie, my case manager. She came to meet with me the day that I was admitted and took the time to explain everything that would happen during my stay. She listened to my story and offered support without even a hint of judgement. She checked in on me at least weekly, she went to bat for me with my insurance company, she coordinated every aspect of my care and even communicated with my employer about my capability to return to work. All this with a smile and a tenacious attitude. On a particularly stressful day I was having a little bit of a breakdown. Cassie took one look at my face and dropped what she was doing to come talk me through it and made sure I was alright. If you have Cassie in your corner, your life is about to get easier. That woman is an angel in battle armor who will do anything for her patients. The wound care team, led by Dr. Whisenant (just call him Chip,) were some of the most tender-handed people at TNC. I received daily visits from him and his team (John, Rhonda, Ian and Sarah) to redress my wounds and make sure I was healing up nicely. There were no complications thanks to their expert care, and what a fun group of people to joke around with. The other doctor in charge of my care, Dr. Arrant, brought a cool aunt vibe and easy demeanor to my room whenever she checked in with me. She was happy to adjust my meds if something wasn't working for me, and took my concerns and problems seriously. The PT and OT teams were fantastic to work with. They were encouraging every step of the way and kept me on my toes (the ones that I have left,) pushing me to work hard to regain my strength and ability to do things for myself. When I was admitted to TNC I could barely roll from side to side in bed on my own. By the time I left they made sure I could be self-sufficient at home, maneuvering a wheelchair and walker with ease. They helped build me back up, body and spirit. I was blown away by the nurses. There are far too many amazing nurses that treated me to list and I'd probably forget someone if I tried. They put the compassion in compassionate care. They listened to my needs and wants, they made sure I had my meds in a timely manner, and they lifted my spirits whenever I was down. I've always respected the profession, but I have a whole new level of appreciation for nurses. The unsung heroes of the facility are the patient care techs. They were happy to do everything from the mundane to downright unpleasant tasks to ensure my comfort and safety. From fetching water to wiping butts (which can't be fun,) most of them did it with a smile and a spring in their step. Kori is a really special tech who is dedicated to their job and who kept me laughing the whole time. Special shoutout to the front desk clerks, who do a little bit of everything. I'm especially thankful for the bed upgrade in the first 24 hours (thanks Kat!) which was necessary given my height. Additionally, the grounds are beautiful and despite being in south Austin, there was never any road noise. You could easily forget you're in the city. There are beautiful old trees everywhere that brought a sense of serenity. Nobody wants to be in a hospital, especially not for months at a time. But if you have a choice, please choose Texas NeuroRehab Center. All the little indignities and painful processes are made so much easier by every member of the staff. If I had a problem, they would get right on a solution for me. I cannot possibly recommend TNC enough, they made the best out of a terrible situation that I was going through. I don't miss being in the hospital but I sure miss the staff there.

Our loved one spent 3+ months at the Post Acute Brain Injury (PABI) program. I hope I am able to express how pleased we are with the care, compassion, and professional attention he received. The staff, including medical, therapists, and administrative/case management, are absolute pros that took a personal interest and helped our loved one progress beyond our hopes and expectations. It is a clean, warm environment with so much available beyond a basic rehab environment. We are so grateful that he was able to participate and be nurtured in this program.

It was Friday, the 4th of July. I had just arrived to be admitted to the Brain Injury Program. While performing my admission assessment, one of the therapist looked me in the eye and said “I have worked at a lot of different places. This place is magical. I have seen miracles here.” I almost spit out my water. By the time I left 2 weeks later, I had seen miracles too. The admission assessments were completed quickly as no one wanted me to miss the pizza party. I had been a nurse for 20 years, recently retired. I have a decade of experience in SNF/LTC. Every interaction I had with staff was therapeutic. The patents helped each other with the reality of loss of function, provided support, encouragement. They were fighting battles you could see as they struggled to regain as much function as they could. I have also been a Psych nurse, Acute Inpatient. The support of peers who have “Been There, Done That.” means more than anything else. I was there for 2 weeks. I arrived broken, lost and angry. I left whole. I got a miracle, and a lesson in humility. I have helped patients who know that the only way they will get something to eat or drink is if you give it to them, for. They could not eat or drink on their own. There is a bond that forms, if it's done right. I watched and it was always done right. I was humbled by the care I received. I was in awe as I watched the care others received. We had movies and popcorn on the weekend. We went to a video arcade. For people whose lives have changed overnight, it felt like home, in other word ‘Heaven’. It took me a while to start writing this Google review using my real name because I did want to spend hours crying while composing it. I was the only patient that anyone could remember who had arrived by Uber. To all of the staff, Director, CNAs, Therapists (all you guys) and Nurses Thanks for the Miracle John Survis

My experience at Texas NeuroRehab Center was wonderful. The 67 acres that the property sits on is beautiful and so incredibly peaceful and was a huge help to my recovery. In spite of the horrific OR error that got me to Texas NeuroRehab, the care I received was very good and truly amazing. One of the most important things to me, all of the staff made me feel comfortable and safe. The care I received from the hospital staff was wonderful. Dr Arrant, Charis, Anita, Bradley and many others were so very patient, kind and respectful in the care they gave me. Kevin, my occupational therapist, and Jen, my physical therapist, and there teams were extremely supportive and patient when working with me. I made improvements that I never thought possible. In regards to the wound care team, their care was outstanding! The healing they were able to help get my arm and hand to was absolutely unbelievable and truly miraculous. I will be forever grateful to Dr Chip, Ian, Sarah and John. Even Texas NeuroRehab's representative that I met in the hospital, after my family chose the center, was amazing! Alyas came to see me almost every other day while I was in the hospital. He truly cared about me and reassured me that TNRC would provide every thing I might need during my recovery. Last, but certainly not least, is my social worker, Cassie. She was so kind and helpful. She went out of her way to insure I had everything I needed while I was a patient and even after I was discharged but still receiving out-patient care for my wound. Texas NeiroRehab Center will be an outstanding choice for your continued care and rehabilitation after your hospital discharge.

Texas Neuro Rehab Center took incredible care of my husband during one of the hardest times in our lives. The staff was patient, compassionate, and truly dedicated, and the therapies were absolutely amazing. They helped him regain strength, confidence, and real progress we didn’t think we’d see this soon. We’re deeply grateful for the kindness and support we experienced. I highly recommend this center to anyone needing neuro rehabilitation.
