Warm, clean, home like environment. The staff are caring and compassionate. Everyone goes above and beyond to make sure the residents are cared for and have what they need.

If you are looking for a great place to bring your loved one the Berkeley is the place. The staff is wonderful, the food is great, and it has brand new renovation while keeping the historic feel of the building . The executive director is great.

The Berkeley at Short Pump is a vibrant community where older adults can make new friends and enjoy limitless adventures led by caring and compassionate team members. The Berkeley’s executive leadership, Assited Living and Memory Care team members provide compassionate support that optimizes each resident’s capabilities and independence. In addition, the Berkeley’s creative activities team serves up a daily menu of fun and exciting engagement opportunities that expand residents’ horizons and bring joy to each day! This is definitely a community for anyone looking for support in a welcoming and elegant environment.

As a healthcare provider, I often get a behind-the-scenes look at the facilities I visit. I have the opportunity to observe how staff interact not only with residents but also with other members of the healthcare team. My experience at The Berkeley at Short Pump has been nothing short of positive. The staff genuinely care. I've seen firsthand the warmth and respect they show to residents and to one another. Their kindness and attentiveness help create more than just a place to live — they’ve built a real community. You can see it in the friendly smiles, in the way they respond to needs, and in the positive atmosphere that surrounds both staff and residents. I’ve had the pleasure of joining in on activities and getting to know some of the residents myself — and it’s been a truly rewarding experience.

I am writing to share my deepest gratitude and thanks to two very special people in my mother's life. I could easily write several paragraphs, and each deserves their own call out. But because I always referred to them as the 'dynamic duo' and the 'dream team' I feel it appropriate to say Georgina and Miss Frances could not have been more dedicated, caring, and devoted to my mother. I cannot say where they draw their energy from, and how they do what they do day in and day out, but they were always there for "Jo Jo" (a nickname they gave her!), especially at the end. In fact, Georgina sends us pictures and kind thoughts still, which has been so special as our family mourns our mother's passing. Thank you both Georgina, Miss Frances, and all of the staff in the memory care unit at Vitality West End!
