The Canterbury House

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The kitchen is nasty, crumbles every where. The place has a bed bug infestation. Be careful where you sit down. Plus state shut them down from taking any admission at this time. This place needs to be investigated more.

The staff was always cordial and smiling. However, I was inclined to look at things from a health and welfare point of view. My mom was a resident and often went without a bath and mouthcare. I brought it to the attention of the staff on several occasions. Her clothes were labeled with her name and still went missing. There were cases of bedbugs and unreported covid. The final straw was when my mom passed out less than 15 minutes after I picked her up. Rushed her to the ER. She was admitted for 4 days with severe dehydration which also resulted in kidney injury. How did this happen? I spend several hours weekly with my mom. She walks independently and feeds herself. I reported the facility to state. An investigation was done. My complaints were "substantiated" meaning proven true. I refused to give a good rating based on smiles at the door or kind conversation. Canterbury has a lot of room for improvement. Hopefully, they will hire enough staff to provide the care that the residents deserve and pay for.

Canterbury is a great place, the staff is awesome. The place is absolutely clean. I really appreciate Geraldine Yancey for taking me under her wings. I did my AIT with her she is the best!!!!!

My experience with the staff at the Canterbury House has been nothing short of wonderful. From the moment my relative became a resident they were treated with kindness, patience, and respect. The caregivers, nurses and administrators are all incredibly compassionate and dedicated individuals. They truly go above and beyond to ensure that the residents are comfortable safe and happy.

The staff at Canterbury House are top notch- very caring and professional. Facility is always clean. I can’t say enough good things about Canterbury House!
