THE COLLINFIELD HOUSE

My father and stepmother suffered from a variety of ailments-Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and frailty. We moved them to Collinfield House after a disappointing and life threatening experience at a national nursing and senior living facility. The difference in their care was instantly recognizable. Collinfield House staff were compassionate, patient, skilled and they paid attention. My father and step mother were clearly in better hands. Thank you Collinfield!

When relocating my Mom from FL, finding the perfect place felt like a feat.However, in finding CollinHouse, it all felt as things would fall into place! It’s a cozy welcoming home that has been perfect for caring for my Mom. It’s close to my home which is very convenient and I have grown to love most of the caretakers who work hard to help my Mom get better! In the beginning, there is a period where the family and the caretakers need to learn your family member’s care and needs. I had to advocate for my Mom until we all felt comfortable with what I expected for her. I visit all the time and the staff is warm and friendly in having me around the home. They cook meals in the kitchen which is important for me for her nutrition. And they follow the schedule I provided for her routine. I am very happy, blessed and grateful to have my Mom close by. Thank you!

My wife has been a resident at the Collinfield House in Austin for nearly 1 year, and I can emphatically say she is receiving very good care 24/7!! I spend time with her every day, and have gotten to know and value the caregivers who work there and care for her. Their standards of care are excellent, their food service is consistently very good in both quantity and quality. They are able to foster a very nice group interaction there, due to the small size and closeness of the facility. During the week our dear friends Tatiana and Karla are the daytime caregivers who give Liz and others such special care. The caregivers work very hard on providing extra care with craft projects, seated exercise, yoga, games, etc. This time of year they have started taking most of the residents outside to enjoy the comfortable temps on the shaded patio, to just relax, or even for a lunch or a game. Of special note in this regard are Jonathon, Christian, and Sandra, all of whom work on the daytime staff on weekends. Today they made an Easter Bunny craft project! I have great appreciation for the large number of the caregivers who have worked at this facility for most of this year I have observed. I am quite impressed by the high level of efficiency they demonstrate in administering medications and other resident needs. I am comforted by the close coordination the caregivers demonstrate with the Hospice agencies who provide added care for many of the residents. Our Hospice nurse is in close contact with the caregivers since she cares for additional residents besides Liz. Such contact results in excellent care for the residents. I hope this information conveys my appreciation for the care provided by the wonderful staff at The Collinfield House.

We had my dad and step-mom in another facility with all the apparent bells and whistles you could ask for; however, the care givers seemed overwhelmed and understaffed. The care my father received appeared to be subpar and his health declined. Frankly, we were concerned about their safety. Fortunately, we found Collinfield House and he received one on one care, the care givers talk to them and get to know their quirks and understand their needs. These folks do a difficult job with such grace, it is remarkable to witness. There is open communication here which is refreshing and so important. The owners understand the concerns of family members and respond those concerns or questions within hours if not sooner. If you've had a loved one in a different facility, you understand this is a rare occurrence, yet so vital for their care. It is very comforting to know your loved ones receive such personalized care.

My mother has been at Collinfield House for over a year and she is doing really well there. The staff and the owner take care of her like family. Lots of long term staffers which is rare, it’s a dedicated caretaking team. Couldn’t be happier.
