The Discovery Care Center Pc

My parents have both been residents of (Discovery first) and now, The Valley Health and Rehab since 2018. My dad passed in 2019 and he and our family were treated so respectfully and kindly! My mom is still there, through three different administrations and the Covid shutdown. Her needs were met while in assisted living and when she needed a greater level of care, she was moved to the memory unit. The current administration and staff are trying very hard to make improvements and I see the efforts of their hard work on a weekly basis. Yes, they are understaffed, but are recruiting! I have had conversations with a number of staff members and they seem to be working as a team. Give them a chance and let’s see what they can do. They are also one of few facilities that accept Medicaid also.

The management changed in the last few months, so we decided to give them a chance since it was closer to my dad. The wait times for help to toilet or anything else can be long. The one for my mom, today, was nearly an hour and 20 minutes (30-40 minutes alone just to have someone come see what she needed after pressing her call button). I can never get ahold of someone at the nurses station when there is a problem. I ended up calling a number from a business card for the head nurse. I worry for my mom's safety and the safety of the other residents. Today, I was told that there were only 2 workers on the floor and one was in the shower. If my mom had been having an emergency, she could be dead.

I would like to give 0 stars. Unless there’s been a complete overhaul of the system there’s no way I’d put my loved one in here. They staff so short that hardly anything get done unless it’s dressing, meds, food or toileting. Those are the things that get done. There’s no extra time to care, talk or do anything extra for the residents.

Mom stayed there and got bed bugs, Never ever had she had those before,. She even saw them on the floor when she stayed there. They don't clean,. Filthy, Disgusting place. I Do not recommend any family member to Stay there.

I cannot say enough of the quality care I received at Discovery Care Center in Hamilton Montana. It was the best place to stay and recuperate from my broken ankle. The whole staff have hearts of gold and so much love and care for the beautiful people who reside there full-time. Every professional person that works at Discovery, no matter what shift, always have smiles and compassion for everyone. The only other comment I have, is that all the staff and all the sweet people that reside there full time, have one Angel Wing... you might ask where is the other Angel Wing?? When all of them open their eyes to our Heavenly Father, at that time they will have earned their other Wing!! Thank you for making my healing time a lot easier.
