I wouldn't recommend it here if your loved one can't do alot for themselves phsyically. My 93 year old grandmother stayed here a couple weeks and it wasnt good. They let her fall out of her bed and she was found on the floor. Not sure how long she laid there. Several times I used the call button when I was with her an noone came. One time we were told the nurse was on break. Unfortunately she also caught MRCA and was taken to the ER when she fell out the bed. I would highly recommend they be investigated.

I wish I had paid more attention to the reviews before I placed my mom in the memory care unit about a year ago. I wish I could undo that decision. I’m not sure how the assisted living part is but the memory care was an absolutely horrible experience. On paper, this place seemed awesome. And even on first visit, it seemed wonderful. My mom only lived here for about a month before she passed away but that month was full of communication issues (next to no communication), issues with her care, just constant problems that seemed to not be getting resolved. The month she lived there was between Thanksgiving and Christmas so I was giving them the benefit of the doubt but that was the wrong conclusion. My mom was apparently pretty sick all of a sudden (we hadn’t been able to visit her because we had colds) and no one called us. It took my sister running into the maintenance man (by far the best employee there) at the grocery store who mentioned that my mom seemed under the weather. By the time my sister got there, it was clear she needed to go to the ER so my sister had to advocate calling 911. She passed away after 18 days in the hospital. The worst of our experience happened in the days following. Not one person reached out to us to give any sympathy. When I was going to her room to get some of her belongings, I said, “my mom died yesterday…” to which I didn’t even hear an “I’m sorry”. My sisters confronted the management about the lack of communication or sympathy and they still didn’t offer any. Not one “I’m sorry for your loss.” I did reach out to corporate at that point to give all my grievances. They heard our side of the story and did finally give some sympathy. From the corporate people, not from the local management at the Harmony. I kept telling them all we wanted was some sort of acknowledgement of our loss and for whatever reason, they just couldn’t offer simple words. I got more sympathy when I was rescheduling my son’s swim lesson than from the people who were actually taking care of my mom. All of this happened between Nov. 2024 and January 2025. Corporate people told me they would try to fix problems and for everyone else’s sake, I really hope that is true. I hope the local managers of the Harmony memory care have been replaced. But I would offer my review so that other people in my position, would really read and understand that this place looks like it is wonderful but there are soooo many systemic issues when it comes to actual care.

Harmony is a wonderful place if you need it. I I have set with people that live there. Dottie is a wonderful asset for Harmony. The people love there work and taking care of all the residents. Go and take a tour. I think you will love it like I do.

My dad has been a resident at Harmony for some time now and after recent hospital and rehabilitation stay he is finally transitioning back to his apartment. This transition process has been made easier by the help of Anna, Lisa and Ms. Barbara. Anna spent time with my dad making sure he was comfortable with the process and the new level of care he would need. Lisa has always been very welcoming and made sure to check in with us as we were making preparations for his return. Ms. Barbara has always been very kind to my dad, even at times when he was being difficult. She often goes above and beyond. We are happy to get him back to his apartment and glad it is at Harmony.

We recently moved both my parents into the Assisted Living facility at the Harmony Collection at Roanoke and it could not have been an easier transition! The caring team have gone above and beyond to make them both feel welcome, at ease, and well cared for. We were completely supported throughout every step of the way and the communication was excellent. My parents are both easing right into their new living situation and enjoying all that is offered, including the meals, activities, and facilities. It's a beautiful place with an amazing team!
