The Harmony Collection @ Hanover [IL/AL]

This rating is for the Assisted Living/Memory Care building. My mom lived in the AL area of this building for 5 years. In the beginning, it was a nice place with caring staff and leadership. Things started to change about 2 years ago and only got worse. Wedding rings stolen (62 years of marriage) by an agency staff member with an extensive criminal record and recorded cameras for the building were not working at that time. Many late or totally missed medicines confirmed after putting a camera in her apartment. She suffered excruciating pain when meds not administered as scheduled (paying $500 a month for med administration). In the 5 years, the cost went up by almost $26,000 and that includes a $700 monthly credit where the total yearly cost was approx. $94,000 a year! One recent increase was $500 more a month to cut up her food eventhough she lived in AL and could feed herself. The current Director and Head of Nursing lack compassion and I have many examples of this. Also, learned there were 4 years of Care Assessments that were never signed by us. The stars given here are for staff members and leaders who listen and genuinely care for residents and for this I am thankful and grateful. These staff members don’t control the costs, short staffing situations, or agency hiring, and yet they do the right things. At this time, I would not recommend placing any family member in that building. Just ask the sweet residents about their frustrations.

Last week I was part of the Friends and Family event that Krystal put together. What a great event. I appreciate being part of a great team effort to make the residents happy and also delicious refreshments served. Wonderful event as usual. Thanks Krystal and the whole team!

My mother has been a resident at the Harmony Collection at Hanover for over 4 years. The staff and community are wonderful. From the first day my mother entered The Harmony, Dainelle was so welcoming, professional and accommodating. She helped make the transition for my mother from her house to independent living easy. Dainelle cares about the residents and goes above and beyond. My mother loves The Harmony Collection at Hanover…It is truly home for her.

I’ve been here a year. Harmony is an amazing place! The director and business manager are outstanding. The staff is responsive to many needs, be it health, food, personal attention, engaging us in a variety of activities, etc. The activities here are just great and plentiful. . I currently don’t have nursing needs, but the nurses, nurses aides are very attentive to what is needed. I appreciate our calendars that guide us to food choices and many activities. There are monthly meetings with the chef, the heads of maintenance and so forth. Whenever I’ve needed to bring a concern forth, I feel very heard. I love Harmony! Mary Decker

The staff has been amazing!!! From the very beginning Danielle Richardson in the sales department was so helpful and nice. Keiona Johnson helped me get answers to questions when I was having a difficult time getting them from medical providers. All of the staff that I have interacted with are very caring and professional. I would highly recommend this residence for you or your loved one.
